I asked support last week and they said it wasn't working as of yet. BTW I installed on my laptop anyway and remembered why I stopped using it in the first place. New interface. Same sounds.

Yes. Though this stuff is always subjective. I don't write orchestral scores but I do like a cello and a perhaps a voila and violin section in some songs along with the odd French Horn. I guess my needs differ greatly however from those who score for an actual orchestra but I wouldn't choose GPO for my stuff.

Maybe they have a demo you can download. For the price it was hard to say no ($49 upgrade). I thought they may have changed the samples since I bought (which was many years ago) so I figured I'd go for it.

You should check out the Garritan Gofriller Cello. That thing is gorgeous and I use it in place of their Stradivari violin sometimes too. But like you said, everyone likes a certain sound. All I know is that I used it on a track before and a fellow musician asked who I got to play cello on it.

Yeah, but the problem is: Where to buy them?
Checking out isn't that easy with less than rare informatin out there......
