Thought it might be a good idea to link this thread.

Not very enthused by Chimera as the only synth (it's great and I love its sounds, but it drives me nuts), while I definitely vote in favor of Galileo, one of my favorite little beasts :)

Post

Cheers Mac, I personally know nothing about Chimera, but suggestions and feedback are always welcome. At the end of the day, what we use will be decided via discussion.

Anyway, whilst it's gone quiet, might be a good time to remind everyone that we have provisionally agreed to use Galileo next ... if issues previously flagged up are resolved.
It would be nice if anyone who has a bit of spare time, and perhaps has not already commented, could help Max out by testing Galileo and feeding results back to Max :)
It certainly works for me, and I would love to do a comp with it.

However, if this is not possible, I have a list which now includes Chimera which I will post when this comp finishes.

Post

... just a cheeky little bump to say there are still 11 (and a bit) days 'til close of submissions!!! Loads of time for anyone to create and submit a track! .. in fact, 11 is exactly the amount of days from the start of the comp, to the point our 8th track was submitted!

So.... if you've just discovered this thread, and you think you're too late to have a go, think again because you are WRONG :hihi:

.... Anymore on the way guys? :)

Post

i did start something, but time is short for music, so i may not have a finished piece....

Post

Ach, thats a shame Krim, would have been good to have a track from ye! .... However, if you look back at previous comp entries, you'll find that it doesn't need to be a standard sized 3 minute track ... I think we've maybe had one as short as 47 secs! .... and we've even had the ultimate OSC minimalist entry using just one synth! .. like one instance!! .. So no excuses!!!!! :hihi:

My last update from Max was working better but still had a glitch in pattern playback in Fruity which could cause a system crash.

At the same time I've essentially completed my Galileo OSC entry so it didn't cause me too much of a problem once I knew what to avoid :-o

Hopefully Max will iron out the wrinkles for folks as it does get my vote as a jolly nice wee beastie :D

The album thing sounds fun as well - I'm in :D

Keep at it guys,
Mouxbar

Cool mouxbar!

Cheers for the info on Galileo, and the thumbs up for the album!

I've done a draft front cover, and have a nice pic for the label, but cant post right now due to ongoing updating at the mediafire hosting site ( which should be completed soon ).

I have also started a track with Galileo, and thought about finishing it off since posting my felix track. However, instead I took the plunge and investigated doing a course in C++. I am now enrolled at a local college to do an HNC in computing, and a foundation course in C++ .... Looking forward to getting started! :)

... oh, and dont worry, that's a part time course, and a short self study course, so I'll still be around plenty to run the OSCs :hihi: .... and hopefully, the quality of my participants prizes will improve as a result! :)

Hey, c'mon, you're all a bunch of chickens!!! I expected a lot more competitors, but I see that everybody only seems to be able to come up with something using a dozen 1,500-$ VSTs - well, I got news for ya: anybody can do that. So why don't you prove you can make music with just one nice freebie and show us what you really got?

The winner will also get a half-naked pic of my Pard :D

LOL, I don't think I can come up with much with a dozen vsts...only half finished songs due to option overload.

I'll have my track uploaded in less than a week I think.

Thanks for hosting the contest.

Methinks it lost something in the coversion to .mp3. yikes

Brief, but very intense!! Love it! :) Would be perfect for an emotional and tense anime scene :o

I hate MP3s. Go to this page
http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/50627 and listen to what freakin' liquid shit my HHs have turned into (and this is only what's evident to those who don't know the originals, but the rest is equally f**ked up...) :(
