It might come down to personal preference, with some having no issue with a beep but not caring for white noise, while others would rather have five minutes followed by having to restart the plug. I don't think it's accurate to suggest fanboyism in this regard. And I can't remember a reaction from you anything close to the one about this demo. I just assumed you were having a really bad day.

I've seen brutally honest reactions from him before, though.

bmanic---you must have been done demoing any and all of the T-Racks singles you were interested in within the 10 day period because GOOD GOD the head shattering hiss on those things after 10 days is up is beyond all reasonable belief or comprehension.

I agree that devs shoot themselves in the foot if they make the noises too annoying, and it has been done before a number of times.

I guess it would be a good question to put to devs---what are you trying to accomplish with demo limitations? Make the plug-ins unusable for final rendering of projects or annoy the living sh** out of people? If it's the latter, why do you think that is good for business? If it's the former, then maybe it's wise to figure out what will make it necessary to buy a plug-in to use it for full projects, but will not drive away potential customers while they make up their minds.

Or...maybe they really want to do some combination of restricting and annoying.

Best VST loudspeaker/room simulator,I bought it immediately! Much, much better and accurately than Redline monitor. This plugin is very delicated and should be properly/accurate adjusted. It works wonderful and amazingly natural when You find the right/acourate value. Bravo!!!!!!!!

You went through all the trouble of coding a beep, then white noise, when all the while you could have just muted the signal and not annoyed anyone. With less code lines, too.

I'm someone who hates the sound dropping out during demos. HATE it. I'll take a beep any day before that. Even white noise. But a drop out creates a "something's wrong" response in me that I can't get past. Ever.

I suppose a gentle female voice whispering "buy the plug you sodding moron" might be okay, but never silence. Never.

For me the benchmark is and always will be Sonic Charge's µTonic... unless someone actually does it better. I agree that dropouts are bad (I get the same "what went wrong!?" response) and loud beeps or hiss are unnecessary. It doesn't have to be annoying to be preventative. It really doesn't. And if it's preventative while being amusing, your likelihood of a sale probably go up.

And now I have to test this plugin because my speakers are crap.

I just purchased this, not because I needed it, but a quick demo convinced me that a lot of effort went into it, and Jeroen is offering (yet) another quality plugin at a very affordable price.

I have read about the principles, but have never bothered... Now I have no excuse

There is another thread full of people saying that if something is cheap... it must be crap - JB has proved once again that quality stuff is within everyones reach!

I'm a bit confused by the idea of plugins that try to make listening on headphones more like listening to speakers in a room. I guess the premise is that listening through headphones is not an ideal way to mix. But what I don't really get is if I am mixing on headphones, using a speaker emu plugin, will it sound best only on speakers? And does this then imply that I should enable the plugin during mix down to get a better mix for headphones, or if I am mixing for headphones then I'd be better off not using a speaker emu plugin at all.

Plus, if I am mixing on speakers for use mainly on headphones, what then?
