Good news to all Tracktioneers: Tracktion is alive!

After a few tries to contact the Support about the future of Tracktion they answered. Good news:

Here is the response from the product manager.

Quote:

"The current retail bundles of Tracktion 3 are being discontinued - this is due to the amount of third party software that is included in these unique bundles and our contractual agreements with these companies.

Tracktion, as a platform, will remain available through our website and we will fully support the software under the terms of our support policies. We also plan on releasing exciting new developments to the platform in the future - watch this space..."

Good sound into the silence.

Well that's really good news for all your Tracktioneers. I still use T2 from time to time, though rather not much these days, but I think a whole lot of users will like these news.

If true that is good news. I hope they concentrate now on the core audio engine rather than on trying to negotiate another load of third party software and loops etc.

For me they just need 3 fixes, that, the freezing while playing back automation and broken realtime export for Virus Ti.

It would also be nice if double clicking a clip zoomed on it horizontally and vertically and the same time. I find that almost always have to correct the zooming.

I'll need a bit more than that. I also want Win7 compatibility and 64bit OS support. If I get this along with first note bug and audio engine optimizations then I'll stay on-board. Now, back to limbo land for me until there is something substantial from Mackie to talk about...

You know it is now years I keep checking here on a daily basis. It sounds surreal at this point. I hope it somehow co-aligns with their i800 Onyx plans for ProTools 8 compatibility as well (along with upgrades for prior Onyx i/o systems). Fingers crossed for a revival.
