The Uhbik/Zebra stuff...

...all sounds pretty damn nice actually! I'm impressed...
In a week, I've been converted to Zebra and I think the Uhbik stuff too!
... Can I ask, when purchasing the Uhbik stuff, does it save what size I've set the interface? So next time I open it, it'll stay that size? It's just I find the default size just too big, and I actually really like the size just below the norm.
... Also, with Zebra... I hear Zebra 2.5 is coming out? When is this? (just wondering really)... Is there anyway I can find out some sort of feature list for the new update?
... Also, I know that Zebra can be skinned. In the demo version, I switch it to the other skin on selection, it's pretty cool. Just wondered really is there a dedicated place anywhere that lists Zebra skins? ... And a place for Zebra patch banks too? I can't seem to find anything much on the main site, unless I'm just being blind.
Thanks, just some bits and bobs I wanted to know really.

1 - no, only if you close the GUI but keep the plugin in the track.
2- don't know, but should be a free upgrade

Zebra 2.5 is in beta. At some point Urs usually makes a public beta as well. The betas from Urs are generally more stable than many shipping products. In otherwords, Zebra is solid.littlejim84 wrote:

Some of the improvements for 2.5 include:
a new redesigned GUI layout
an undo/redo feature
some of the filters are updated/improved
XMF filter gets a big overhaul with new functionality and it rocks!
Mod Matrix now has its own page on the bottom and is 12 slots instead of the previous 4
I guess the improvements to preset management will be listed as part of 2.5 too
I purchased Zebra 2.0 when it was in beta (about 3+ years ago) and it has been updated a number of times since then. The improvements/additions/refinements since then have easily been equal to 2 full paid version numbers from many companies, but Urs has not charged for them. 2.5 will be a free upgrade to Zebra owners as well and it is no small update!
The new filter algos sound excellent!

Heh pdxindy, I think that Zebrify is also part of the 2.5 update
Zebrify is the Zebra-as-effects-plugin version for those who don't know it yet, and it is included with the 2.3.3 beta but it will officially come out with 2.5 I think.

The resized ui is not yet saved with project. I've been too afraid of the hosts that can't cope with it. Once I sussed out how to resize properly in all hosts I think I can also save the size of the patch in the project file.
Cheers,
Urs

I am liking the high end with the new 2.5 filters. This sound is straight from Zebra and even has no Zebra effects except the Zebra comp to level the volume a bit... just oscs and filters. (now try adding some Uhbik Ambience to it!!)

The samples do sound great. I'm sure eager to get my hands on 2.5. I'm using some PPG wavetable-based Zebra sounds on a track right now (which is sort of developing an almost mid '80s DM kind of vibe), and would be very interested to hear how some of those patches would sound using the new filters.

The difference is startling. The updated filters use more cpu and you more than get your moneys worth! 2.5 is like a new synth.Vectorman wrote:The samples do sound great. This snippet has a lot of modulation going on... a bit of Zebra delay otherwise no other internal or external effects
