Hello.

Read somewhere you have recently updated the license transfer policy. Is it true and what's the intricate details then? :)

Post

Grandfather clauses apply? I bought a second hand license in July and would not like to hear that my license is now nfr, that would be upsetting. So as the op mentioned details would be helpful.

Thanks, James

Sugarbytes, don't be afraid to answer. I'm not saying I will sell something, I'm just wondering what I bought. ;)

They're probably not answering because the answer is already here.

Thanks, I know that. The thing is, IIRC, I read a recent post here at KVR a few days back about a license transfer restriction and a link to the post can be found on Google but the post has been removed here at KVR. So I this thread is vapour ware. :)

Due to some massive license circulation we have to change our license transfer policy. From now on, a license can be transferred one time and becomes nfr then. This information will be put into our faq soon. We allow all transfers which are the first ones after we changed the policy.

Thanks for the reply. I can understand you take the actions but would have appreciated it more if you changed it to 'license transfers allowed but not before having owned the product for 5/7/10(?) months' or something like that. U-he does it that way and to me that's the best compromise. It takes me quite much more to get convinced to buy something that degrades that fast in value when you have to sell it as NFR, if you resell it. But hey... that's me. You obviously do and cheers to that. :) We'll see how long I can keep my fingers off the buy button. Haha.

We are still thinking about it. We also consider a license transfer fee.
