Even the free trackers do asio. :-/

Is it free of patent minefields or anything? If a dev could just pick it up and implement it without any problems, then fine, brilliant. Just need someone who's willing to do that.

Well at least they say it run very well on Linux, which was one of my interogation. I think it makes a good alternative for Linux users who would like to have an alternative for FL Studio for their OS.

A while back i donated my FL Studio design to this project, so that it could be converted for use.

I am still willing for use of this design on this project, however i believe it needs re working (size etc) which i can begin work on soon.

I will contact the devs and see if they can supply me with the current them, so i can begin modding, and creating a new skin.

Is the entire interface customizable, unlike with fl studio?

As for how much of the UI is skinnable, that's a question for other developers, when you get in touch with them via the mailing-list. Or you could go on IRC later today and talk to them directly.

This is one of my problems with GPL, that is, interoperability with other licenses.

The Steinberg VST headers can be replaced by the Vestige headers, so they don't need any permission from Steinberg. AFAIK the ASIO headers have not been replaced by freely-available compatible headers yet, so there may be more legal ramifications for ASIO than for VST.

Also, if license interoperability is an issue they can always switch to the LGPL or a BSD-style license.
