Is it free of patent minefields or anything? If a dev could just pick it up and implement it without any problems, then fine, brilliant. Just need someone who's willing to do that.mistertoast wrote:"I've asked about ASIO support and one of the devs has said it's probably the last thing on their mind compared to other issues."

Well at least they say it run very well on Linux, which was one of my interogation. I think it makes a good alternative for Linux users who would like to have an alternative for FL Studio for their OS.

A while back i donated my FL Studio design to this project, so that it could be converted for use.
I am still willing for use of this design on this project, however i believe it needs re working (size etc) which i can begin work on soon.
I will contact the devs and see if they can supply me with the current them, so i can begin modding, and creating a new skin.
Is the entire interface customizable, unlike with fl studio?

Looks great! Is that just a mockup?cusis wrote:
As for how much of the UI is skinnable, that's a question for other developers, when you get in touch with them via the mailing-list. Or you could go on IRC later today and talk to them directly.

Sounds like they need to multithread the application so the GUI runs separate from the audio like several other apps do (XT comes to mind).mazza558 wrote:The audio issues when moving windows are a real pain for the developers. It seems they can only alleviate the problem partly, and unless Qt gets some improvements, that's going to be the Achilles's heel.
They're concerned about legal issues with ASIO?? But they're using VST, which is from the same company, the SDKs are right next to eachother. I'll assume they're using a third party VST library then. Have them look at the WineASIO project then.
This is one of my problems with GPL, that is, interoperability with other licenses.

The Steinberg VST headers can be replaced by the Vestige headers, so they don't need any permission from Steinberg. AFAIK the ASIO headers have not been replaced by freely-available compatible headers yet, so there may be more legal ramifications for ASIO than for VST.xybre wrote:They're concerned about legal issues with ASIO?? Also, if license interoperability is an issue they can always switch to the LGPL or a BSD-style license.
Best,
dp

Cusis, this is LMMS with parts of your theme implemented by pgib (an LMMS developer):

EDIT: Quote from pgib:
pgib: mazza558, I'm not a KVR member. Please have cusis contact the list. LMMS isn't as themable. But, I'm adding that in as we speak. I will add as much themability as needed to support both the original theme and the cusis theme. When it is all done, the themeability should be excellent.
[16:57] pgib: mazza558, those sshots I posted are functional, not mockups
[16:57] pgib: mazza558, yes, the internal window decoration can be changed (which I think is a good thing)
