Hello,
after testing the whole U-he vst effect range for a few days I decided to purchase the Uhbik package to begin with ( too bad there is no offer for buying more alltogether, unless I missed something).
After having inserted my licence code as expected, I have been continuing to test other manufacturers Vsts to put together the vst collection to substitute my rack for live processing.
At a certain point I had my pc on overload with Audiomulch cpu meter hitting 450% ( !).
I started to uninstall all the latest Vsts I had loaded/installed from newer to older to check which one was causing this.
To make things short: the problem was in the Uhbik_D effect.
Whenever I have audio passing through it, it is bringing the cpu to overload. Bypassing it or cutting it out is bringing the situation back to full normality.
This is happening JUST with the _D, no other vsts from the same suite are bringing anything similar.

No other changes had been done on the laptop I use for music, no internet access, no new softwares added.

I tried to change presets on the _D to check if it was something in the algorithm but this didn't bring any difference.

Is there anything I missed or that I should consider to fix this ?
The funny thing is that I have been using the Uhbiks for a couple of weeks in this same scenario with absolutely no problems.

Thanks a lot for some healthy light ;-)

Hi Luca,

That sounds like a weird thing! Would you mind telling me your system configuration? And do you have a simple project file that reproduces the problem? You could send it to anybody@u-he.com ...

It sounds a bit like a problem with denormals... if so then it's easily fixed...

Cheers,

;) Urs

Is this Mulch 1 or 2? I can't replicate this in mine but I only have 1. The CPU meter in Mulch is at <2 with a simple structure - maybe if you post the project I could test too?

thanks for the superfast availability to look into this.
It's Audiomulch 2.
My system is:
Toshiba Tecra A4 ( old centrino 1.86 with 2 Gb ram)
Win Xp sp 3
Rme FF400
midi controllers: Gordius Blg and Novation controlzero

Would you like me to post the AM file ?

This is not my recording environment, it's the live processing one, which audio goes out via adat to a FF800 on another pc.

let me know what I can send you to check this.
Thanks !
Luca

How can a cpu meter go up to 450%, shouldn't it just go until 100% ?
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!
