Since I don't know the level of sensivity on this forum, I'll cut out the adjectives and get directly to the point.

Inspired by the low prices for the apps in the iPhone app store, I decided to start up my own patch making brand with prices anyone can afford.
Although I'm nowhere as famous for creating sounds as Ben Crossland, Howard Scarr, Rob Lee or Rob Papen - I've been doing this for years. Virus/Kurzweil/Kawai/John Bowen Solaris.

Obviously I failed getting to the point, so here goes.

Total Bass. Under development. 128 sounds for Sylenth 1. Price 5.90 Euros. 100% bass sounds. No Moog Basses or classic analogue stuff. Available in a few weeks.

128 sounds for 5.90. Sounds like a steal to me. Now if only someone can do just gators. I've seen them in the Everglades.

Considering you'll get 128 sounds for 5.90 EUR, and also the great feeling of supporting the small developer I think this is "no brainer" even though I haven't heard the sounds yet.

Edit: Noticed the STHML location, so another plus for Swedish quality

but i'll tell you now that after what i just heard though these monitors i know who is gonna be famous

These basses are totally magnificent and i wish you every success with your release.
You have a real talent here and i can see you selling shit loads of these banks.
Seriously keep it up as i like your style big time DrGonzo

If i didn't design my own sounds i would have bought your bank without question.
If this is the quality you can deliver then im sure that the developers will come knocking for DrGonzo's sounds in their synths..mark my words.

No - 6 euros for a bunch of good sounds is a no brainer. Although I've sold soundsets before for around 30-40 dollars, I must say I never really felt entirely comfortable with it.
I mean - it usually goes like this. You listen to the demo - you like what you hear - you buy the soundset. After playing around with it, you can probably sort out 30 or maybe 40 sounds that you really really like (my own personal experience) and from that point of view the value of the 30-40 dollar purchase is not that great anymore.

Of course. A good sound can inspire a whole track - and that is always a good thing. It's just that I'd rather see more people getting soundsets for a small amount of money, rather than few for more.

And besides. Sound design is not rocket science. It just take time.

As for price aso : some people will pay far more for a single, convincing, or maybe sometimes not so convincing

, Rhodes sound. Just facts.

And a real guitar or a saxophone will cost you far more, and afaik, produce only one sound ( and you even have to spend years learning it to produce an acceptable ,if not unique and recognisable, one ) ......

You can buy instruments, not talent.

So that ........ if only I could have found 30/40 presets that I loved in each library I purchased, I would have been more than enchanted

Now if some people dont think their music deserve soundbanks that cost less than a ( Bad ...) hamburger or pizza , well, my guess is that it's no more a sound designer's problem .....

Thanks for the kind words i appreciate them

anyway i hope your going to stick around these parts and bring us more of what i just heard in your demos for sure.As a sound designer/producer and remixer since 1987 i have heard many sounds from many different sound designers over the years and to be honest (and i do speak as i find here)hehe i liked your style in an instant.

and yes sound design isn't rocket science it's just a matter of learning and practice and knowing an exact sound your aiming for...for me it's EDM that's all.

Good 0.002. And of course you are right. Personally I gladly spend big bucks on sample libraries, as long as the quality/innovation suits my needs. Have you heard the Zero-G Phaedra? Totally brilliant. One of the best libraries I got - ever. Easy worth the 170 Euros. Even a bargain in my book.

I work quite fast when making sounds (well - usually - this morning I spent more than one hour on a sound that turned out to be total rubbish) but I'm also very curious on how low price will affect sales. I'm sure that all my stuff sooner or later will be out on the torrents. What can I do? Nothing. I just hope that some will think... hey, these sounds are good. I buy this guy a beer - which is about what I can buy for the money.

(damn - didn't think about that - this can turn me into an alcoholic!)
