I and mbian worked with Urs to get that one fixed. I haven't had a crash on close in Reaper since I think 2.5b3. the latest Beta so far has been rock solid on XP + Reaper 3.x.sinzero wrote:in the last beta, closing zebra's GUI would crash reaper. Is this fixed?

Urs,
I was able to figure out a solution to the problem I
was having with the 2.3.3 GUI loading in place of the
2.5 one. I had installed the Z2 Editor files and by
removing the Editor.txt and the default.h2p files the
correct GUI was able to load. So, I am happy at last!!

That 25 pixel or so "cutoff" on the normal GUI is still there.

Personally I prefer something more subdued, especially if I am going to be staring at it for a long time.
As I spend a long time in front of Zebra, I find the looks of the GUI very important. Especially the green and red knobs, as well as the silver panels and strong white borders, are hard on my eyes.

The new features are great bu i would just like to say i do not like the new interface. I actually very much prefer the old one and the best one is the dark horse. I find the new interface to be overly modern and flashy and it putts me off actually. I would like to see it a lot less flashy.

Dark Horse is the best, by far. No need to say anything else

i really don't see a reason to be too upset with the softsynth-y skin since zebra is quite easily skinnable, soon enough there should be several pelts to choose from? if not, i'll just roll my own.
and to recap what everyone else has been saying, bazille/xfm kicks ass like no other module!

I like the layout of the new osc module better. I also like the global page better. It is clearer. The comb module is much smaller, but it is not all on one tab. So far I think I prefer the smaller size so there is less scrolling. The new filter module is also smaller in height. The new mod matrix is a big improvement in both clarity and functionality.
As for colours, I like a darker style better. It is easy to change the colours so I am not concerned about that. There will be people happy to have a brighter skin and most of the user skins have been dark.

Argh, the new look needs the dark-orange variation which comes hopefully after the release

I like the new look (if I was to be super-picky, I'd say that the grey circles around the knobs in the Delay module look a bit sketchy - not dithered enough? - and the graininess of the "Global, Osc1, Osc2 etc" bar looks too coarse to me, but that is being super-picky
).
Dark Horse was a good skin, but a little too dark for me (particularly the XY view).
That said, it will be interesting to see any alternative skins people come up with.
