I have a question too, is it possible to keep 2.3 alongside the 2.5?
Because one of my presets sounds different in the 2.3 mode than it did with the real 2.3
Might i bring this up again?
I would like to offer more info about the problem but its hard to describe the difference. Having a direct comparison of what works differently might be helpful no?
So can i have both versions installed?

I still have 2.3 installed as well as 2.5 (because I want to keep a copy of the version with the audio in bug). The trick is to install the "pre-installed" version for one of them and keep the directories seperate.

Thanks, will try that.

That's weird, can't reproduce it here. My setup is the same as yours, except that i'm running on Vista.

I can't reproduce that running Renoise 2.1.0 on Win XP SP3 & OS X 10.5.8 (VST or AU version). Tried plenty of combinations of loading presets, using different parts of the Zebra GUI, close / re-open / close. Working great.

Peace,
Andy.

About the well known ARP sync problem, it's very easy to reproduce with REAPER: add a Zebra 2 instance using the Acidophilus+ preset, set a MIDI item of a couple bars with a long note, play the bars looped.

You'll hear a glitch on every loop rewind, and the more you add swing, the more noticeable the glitch. With swing off, there's no glitch.

Sheesh... I worked on that one... thought it's gone with b6... will have to work a bit more then...

damn, can't open (only v2.5) in FL9 :(

Post

not sure if it's the beta, but teksonics "nervous arp preset" and a very few others (don't recall names) from other banks, make a bad noise when playing. the same hideous noise is shared among the "faulty" presets.

The audio quality of 2.5 is off the chart; really great!

Congratulations, Urs!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how are people to know whether a preset is meant to be heard with v2.3 or v2.5 (or even a later mode)?

Perhaps the mode could be saved with the preset - if the preset mode is not present, then Zebra loads itself in v2.3 mode, so all previous presets wouldn't need updating.

Hi, I am getting a serious problem (for my hearing) using zebra2.5.6 as a vsti in cubase studio 4.5.2

Patch Lupins/Resonaut 1 sometimes starts screaming at full volume and won't shut up unless I delete the zebra2 instrument track.

My speakers and ears certainly got a work out :D

This is the only patch I have found so far with the problem in 2.5

The preset version has always been saved with the preset itself. A preset created with Zebra 2.3 or before will load in 2.3 mode.

The only presets where this doesn't work properly yet are those imported from the early Zebralette and ZebraCM. Which I'll fix at soem point.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Yeah, there seems to be some really strange behaviour with some filters when modulated with the ArpMod... something's wrong there...
