There will certainly be a release date... I just can't say now because I don't know how long it takes to fix the final bugs and get everything in place... can be weeks, but can also be a month or two...

Hullo Urs

I haven't been a regular follower of updates but have just downloaded and installed this version. How can I access the new interface? The synth currently looks like it always has since version 2.2, which is when I got it.

Also how come not all my presets show up in the interface?

And why is there a faint "2.3" in the preset window?

And why do notes start to play incorrectly after a while? Is there sth wrong with my licence?

Thanks

Mmh, bit odd. When I load the latest dll (v 2.5.6), the interface is the old one (2.2). When I load version 2.3.1, it shows up with the new interface.

What's going on?

Maybe you need to 1st unistall the old version, and do a clean upgrade.
ie: get rid of all the old 2.3 version files 1st. Then install the 2.5.
(then again I could be wrong, which I usually am)

Well it doesn't seem like there's anything to uninstal (when I look in the windows instal/uninstall tool).

It seems like the latest version remains locked in demo mode even though I entered my serial and it shows up on the UI. Is it because I got a license when it was still v 2.2?

am a bit confused. :(

Do a full pc file search for U-he, and Zebra. Then throw those out, and load the 2.5.beta
Just don't throw out your presets, or mseg's, waves files..etc..

Well i put the 2.3.1 dll away to see if it would change anything, but it didn't. I would think that's the only thing that might conflict with the new dll (?)

Anyway, time for bed, I'll try again tomorrow, I'm probably missing something obvious, not having followed the threads over the past few months...

thanks

Hmm, the added cpu hit of 2.5 seems quite pronounced in Ableton Live (8.05)

Urs, so just to get this clear, if I open a older project which had 2.3 preset loaded, and zebra loads with filters etc in 2.3 mode, then there is no difference in cpu hit now?

Cheers,
bagginz

There shouldn't be any difference.

I have however purged the anti-denormal stuff in favour of setting some cpu flags. If the compiler didn't do things right, there might still be a hit by denormals then. If you get extreme cpu usage when the synth goes silent, then it's most likely denormals.

In that case I would have to go through the code again and see where it could be. It'd be helpful to get the presets in question...

Cheers,

;) Urs

I did have the same problem you're having. I found that deleting the dll didn't do the trick for me, I had to delete everything EXCEPT my presets and my license code. But it worked after that.

Thanks for the reply Urs.

There's no extreme cpu usage on silence here.

It's just that I had a project in Live that was just on the very edge of redlining the CPU. Installing 2.5 seems to have just pushed it over the edge in some parts of the sequence.

I'll keep you informed if I discover any other possible reasons.

cheers,
bagginz
