I have just bought the Sylenth 1 synth however the manual that comes with it doesn't explain how to use everything. Can someone explain to me a bit about the modulation. I will use the preset 174 analog lead as an example. On this preset what is the purpose of Velocity and Cutoff AB being in the Misc modulation panel? The reason i ask is because the knob in this panel does exactly the same thing as the cutoff knob in the Filter A section and the Filter Control section. So if you delete Velocity and Cutoff AB from the Misc modulation panel, you can still get the same effect by just turning the cutoff knob in the filter section.
Secondly why is the Modwheel and Reso AB in the modualtion panel? When i turn the knob, nothing seems to change.

Velocity is the source that controls the filter cutoff 'AB'.
Play your note soft/low volume and the filter is almost closed, so the harder you play the more the filter will open.
Try it in a midieditor if you don't have a midikeyboard, just enter notes with different volumes and you will directly hear the difference.
For the 'ResoAB' you need to use the modwheel on your midikeyboard to hear any difference.
Edit:
The knob in these Misc sections tells you how much it will control the selected parameter. The source is the controller that activates the below values.
