Haven't had any issues with Live 8.0.5 and Z25b6. Old projects seem to be working OK. I'm on OSX10.5.7
PS: Will Zebrify 2.5 have the same filter algo selection as Z2.5?

Yes, sure. It just needs a gui update...tetsuneko wrote:Haven't had any issues with Live 8.0.5 and Z25b6. Old projects seem to be working OK. I'm on OSX10.5.7

works fine with me here on a macbook pro running leopard.pandashake wrote:Has anyone with Cubase 4.5.2 got the beta to show up in your plug-ins list? It's working fine for me in XT, but not in Cubase.

Thanks. Doing what Urs suggested, I figured it out. I cleared the blacklist and all is good.zvenx wrote:works fine with me here on a macbook pro running leopard.pandashake wrote:Has anyone with Cubase 4.5.2 got the beta to show up in your plug-ins list? Silly human. I'm convinced that in some Herbertian alternate world, you are a Titan cymek.
Hopefully that's not too obscure of a reference.

But a cymek would not need to take a break. Unless! he is a cymek who only wants us to think he's human and so takes a break to appear normal.pandashake wrote:Silly human. I'm convinced that in some Herbertian alternate world, you are a Titan cymek.Hopefully that's not too obscure of a reference.

Found no bugs in the b6 version yet, but the gui.. looks.. somewhat bright and edgy.
The labels (perform/synthesis/patches) in the top and below (Global, Osc1 aso) look very smudgy when increasing the gui size (I usually have it at the setting "large"). It looks as if the images are just being stretched to the current resolution thus oversizing the image and that just looks very bad IMO.
I thought the contrast-settings in gui of beta4 was much better, and I vote to bring that back!

Hello Urs,Urs wrote: Ah, yeah... delay drive... this used to be a promising parameter that actually never ever did anything. It just sat there, and I never got around to give it any meaning. So I decided to ditch it at least from the ui until I figure out what to do with it
as a self confessed Delay freak, here's couple of ideas:
Putting a small resonant bump on the cutoff of one (or both) of the delay filters would really help create old analogue desk tape and Dub delay tricks. - Where the output from the delay is fed back to the desk, e.q'd slightly and sent out via the aux to the delay again.
Adding a small (tiny) boost of midrange via the desk e.q would emphasise the progressive transformation of the sound as it cycles through the loop from a copy of the original sound to something sounding akin to... er... a flock of crows feeding on a cornfield at dawn? or whatever... at each delay repeat.
Obviously some kind of saturation in the feedback path helps...
Also, how about a true Pan Delay mode? (Ping-Pong delay) A simple feature perhaps, but something that I often find missing in Zebra.
Sure, I can use an external plug-in, but I'd rather keep it all in the Zebra "box" because of the excellent routing and modulation possibilities.
Obviously one can make something similar to a ping-pong delay with the current delay modes (L, C, R etc.), but I've found a true ping-pong delay mode often sounds much cleaner because it keeps the centre of the stereo image free for the sounds themselves.
For example; take a huge delay soaked pad: the centre of the stereo image can be kept free for the synth and the ping-pong delay pushes the delays out to the sides hard right and left, which gives a more coherent and stable stereo image.
Currently the centre of the image is occupied by any possible pseudo ping-pong delay settings that I am able to create with the current delay modes.
It would also be very useful to have stereo pan width narrowing capability in the ping-pong.
Cheers,
bagginz

Urs,
actually after a bit experimentation and juggling with the existing delay parameters, I found I could get a passable ping-pong delay effect...
In case anyone is interested, here's a picture of how to set it up:
http://share.ovi.com/media/bagginz.public/bagginz.10161
You need to use Dubby 2+2 mode and in particular, note the top right knob has to be set to it's minimum ( 16 samples I believe )
Still, it would be simpler at the click of a button, rather than having to set it up each time
- either by a dedicated ping-pong mode or a place to store favourite delay settings similar to MSEGs...
Cheers,
bagginz

But yeah, I'll have a dual/quad-mono-delay at some point, maybe derived from Uhbik-D

It isn't deliberate. I've been sweating over this but couldn't figure it out yet. It's either "one of those bugs" or it's just, well, it. I remember that the original XMF's resonance was so extreme mostly because of the FilterFM. So I'm a bit concerned that maybe smooth FilterFM is going to be a speciality of the 2.3 mode. However, I'll look into it again and again for another couple of weeks.hakey wrote:XMF Filter FM seems quite noisy in 2.5 when compared with that in 2.3. Is this deliberate?

Thanks for the link to the old post. Useful to know, especially as it adds two flavours of ping-pong...
cheers,
