No idea what this is about or how it affects me. Snow leopard has been released for Mac users but i have been advised to wait until there is an update to 64 bit code ?, before changing from current version. Ive been told this will eventually increase the speed of say Logic 9 for instance but will this in anyway affect plug ins i have purchased such as Zebra ?

At some point plug-ins will have to run in 64-bit mode too. I'm a bit scared of the effort that has to be put in this (Cocoa instead of Carbon for file handling and the gui), but it'll eventually happen. Maybe I hire someone for a month or so to do that once it becomes important enough.john hunter wrote:will this in anyway affect plug ins i have purchased such as Zebra ?

I read that Leopard already runs 64bits applications.
With Snow Leopard, the default applications are in 64bits (Finder ...) and the kernel can be launched in 64bits but this is not recommanded until all the drivers are in 64bits.
I guess sample players could benefit from more than 4Go RAM space but for Zebra I don't see the gain ...
