Can the Zebra create PPG 300 Modular sounds?

Hi

First, excuse me if this is a amateur question. I'm a complete
newbie at using synths.

I've been reading through some threads on this board and learning
that in the Dark Knight movie (Awesome!) the Zebra synth was used
fairly extensively...

I also learned that a lot of the sounds were created using the
PPG 300 Modular sounds.

I looked up this PPG, and while it seems they aren't really available
to buy, they sound absolutely amazing.

My question is this:

Is it possible to use the Zebra plugin to re-create some of these sounds?

Here's a link to an mp3 that shows of the PPG. It's the atmospheric stuff
in the background that I'm talking about.

So if it IS possible to get these types of sounds on the Zebra, what specific
patch would I use? Is there something in the patch libraries that are for sale?

Also, are there any other synths (hardware or software) that can re-create these sounds?

Once again, sorry if this is a noob question, but I really appreciate the help!

Geoff

Welcome Geoff!

Yes, Zebra can do some great pads - there are links on u-he's page to commercial patch banks available for zebra - each one is quite good and the there's an mp3 example for each set you can check out
http://www.u-he.com/zebra/index.php?item=patchsets.

There's also quite a library of user presets - check this page -

As for atmospheric stuff I like the HG Fortune synths, and Cygnus (Krakli)

There is Zebra PPG bank by Vectorman.

Very different PPG, MCnoone. The OP meant the analogue modular.
Oh, and Zebra2 is quite capable of sounding like that mp3.

Thanks for the responses guys. Really appreciate it.

Howard, are there any patch sets available that would make a good
starting point to work towards the sounds in the mp3?

Paid or free, I don't mind!

I'm excited you feel the Zebra2 is capable of this.

Thanks again,
Geoff Williams
