I changed my post above. Changing the volume seems to help.

So I might scale the output according to the unison voices?

1 voice: No change
2 voice : x 0.707
3 voice : x 0.577
4 voice : x 0.5
5 voice : x 0.447
6 voice : x 0.408
7 voice : x 0.378
8 voice : x 0.354

Does that make sense?

I don't really know, this has to be tested with the patches that cause problems. I stated two of them in my post.
I found that the distortion/the crackles gets more with higher unison so you could be right with your suggestion.

That's expected as they signal is "hard" clipped. Try turning on the 4 band EQ. It has soft limiter at the output, that might help a little bit and color the output as well.

Okay, I've tried it and made it crash in 5 minutes
Try playing midi then start fiddle with the layer2's bypass switch

Unison & pan spread works and do their effect, thanks
Didn't have the chance to test the waveshape and cutoff spread, the cutoff one is less dominant voice changer, I think

Will continue to toy with it from next monday.

I think you should make a switch for the parameter handling. I've complained about it earlier. When playing something, and trying to change the cutoff for example, it doesn't. (Your feature :D)

I'll be available later on ;)

just tried the new beta in renoise, and the loading time has been improved, thats a nice thing

theres still quite a few GUI "glitches"but i guess they will be sorted

the new effects works great(havent had time to test-drive them properly yet)

but i think its time to make some presets for the effects???

Keep in my that we have "partial" preset system as well, i.e. presets for separate parts including individual effects.

What do you mean? Presets for FX?

Continuous parameters change in real-time (knobs). That's not the case for some discrete parameter such as the filter type.

Cyforce wrote:3 Bugs found:

1. Global FX -> Vocoder EnvDecay Knob are 2 Knobs overlayerd(gui bug)
2. Unisio use with additiv oscs make many crackles
3. If i use wavetable-osc and load a wave comes error screen and than bluescreen and laptop make a reboot :(

(host in logic 5.5.1 with asio4all)
I just fixed the above issues. As for the unison issue, I implemented volume scaling when unison is turned on, so basicly the volume is scaled to 1/sqrt(n) where n is the number if unison voices.

EDIT: Uploaded the new build for the above fixes. Download if necessary.

Looks like 1.) is not fixed, still two overlaying knobs.

In beta 21 I could still hear crackles even if they are less, mostly in the patches from rsmus7. Could anyone here confirm this or is it only a problem of my system? I tried the patches with the standalone version. Most patches (all patches without unison) don't cause problems so i guess it's not just a problem with my system.
Maybe rsmus7 could check this himself if he finds some time.

UPDATE:
1.) Found the same in the VST version, again mostly the patches of rsmus7.

2.) Another bug: If using the VST plugin in Ableton Live 8 at a random time and a random patch the CPU use goes over 100% and the sound stops. I started Live new and next time this happened again with a different patch and after a different time. I have to check if this happens only now or also at a later time.

3.) Something with rsmus7's patches is really strange. Some of them cause crackles and some pads, e.g. "PAD coldsmoother III SM" with a single instance give up to 50% CPU use on my Quadcore Q6600 CPU. This doesn't happen for example with my own pads (CPU app. 7-10%) or Scot Solida's pads.

Apparently I forgot to copy over the interface.xml file to the latest build. Anyhow will do that this weekend.

Regarding crackles, they are the result of "hard clipping" I believe, so not a bug technically, just due to excessive volume. If preset volumes were lowered, it should go away, and for unison I already took care of that by scaling down the volume when unison voices are turned on.

Until the end of next week my concentration will still be on FX: Particularly Reverb & Phaser. The phaser is very easy to implement, will have between 1-8 notches... Might add feedback parameter as well.

For the reverb, I'll make it more visually editable and add lo/hishelf EQs to the late reverberation part. Also will rewrite the early reflection part so it sounds more "traditional".
