When I load SynthMaster 2.0: 1.9.9.23 in FL8 the synth opens as it should but
when I press a key on my M audio keystation (I tried using the PC keyboard as well)but no sound and FL gives my a message stating "SynthMaster VST crashed while..." and the standalone loads fine but no sound and crashes after a moment and when I set the I/O properties to USB Device or PC keyboard and press a key it crashes.. Hmmm.

Hope this input is usefull.
Just loading FL8 now!
I failed to mention I'm using XP Pro x64 which I have had no problems with use Synthmaster, sorry for leaving that info out :(

EDIT: no problems, it worked fine.
Edit:
Upon closer inspection I realized that I was unraring the files over the old ones so deleted the old first and then unrared tham again and SM seems to work fine with only one exception which is scrolling through the presets using the Fruity wrapper "<>" buttons at the top left corner make SM crash after scrolling through about 6-8 presets.

Hope this helps.

Keep up the great work guys :)

I have started using Beta23 in anger  . I am currently putting a demo song together and am able to produce repeatable crashes using the VST under EnergyXT2.5.1. I was messing with the HyperSaw32Gated preset whilst running 4 instances of SynthmasterV2 through the sequencer. In the LFO1-2 section I just selected Sin under synth LFO1 instead of Step and EnergyXT crashes. I have to reset the POD Studio UX2 before EnergyXT is able to use it again. The third time it happened, I also had to reset My M-Audio Oxygen 49. I am using XP SP3 on an Athlon 3200+.

I also had an incident where the sound just died (no crash) after selecting 1 rsmus patch, playing a couple of notes and then selecting the next patch in the preset list. I was not able to reproduce this.

Fixed this one now. Will update the build now.

Hey Scott,

I tested the <> button on FL8 with at least 20-30 presets but didnt crash.
Do you remember which tab of SynthMaster was active, could it be the LFOs? I just fixed a GUI crasher related to the LFOs.

LFO's hmmm, I'll check that But I'll have to check it sunday as I'm not at my regular computer. Of course I keep in mind that some of these issues may be do to the x64 OS, but I'll let you know soon thanks.

I had some problems using beta 23 too. Problems with the rsmus7 patches could be based on CPU use. Some patches result in 50-60% CPU use on my Quad Core Q6600 CPU.
While browsing through the presets of beta 23 (which are really nice BTW) i had several crashes in Ableton Live 8.0.4. The first type is that the CPU stays above 100% and no sound could be heard. This could by solved by reopen the project. Another type of crash resulted in Ableton Live shutting down. This happened two times again (after restarting the whole OS and Live). After the last crash i was not even able to use the plugin anymore. On opening the GUI Live crashed every time and i had to restart my computer. After reinstalling the plugin it worked again.
All this didn't happen while programming patches, mostly just while changing to the next patch while browsing.

PS: I found that most of the new presets lack any categories. For a future use those categories are quite important IMHO.

I also want to thank Scot Solida whose percs presets inspired me some patches, and to Ingonator whose demo patches saved me a lot of time as I used some as starting points/ Base templates from time to times. Thanks a lot guys

There are many sides of SynthMaster 2 that are still to be explored.

Thanks for Lotuzia's kind words. I really like his presets (and Scott Solida's...). :)

I realized that even if my presets were the first ones most of them are not bad compared to the professional sound designers. I didn't use many effects which is not always bad IMO. Using too many effects in analog style patches could destroy it's sound in some cases.

Yesterday was easily my most intense and prolonged use of SM2 Beta. I probably spent 10-11 hours in the VST version (Beta23) with energyXT2.5.1. During that time I experienced 7-8 crashes. 2 of these were associated with a parameter change in LFO1-2 (which Bulent has already got a fix for). The other half dozen all seemed to be associated with changing from 1 selected preset to another whilst looking for instruments suitable for inclusion in the "demo song". This was no big deal for me (working with computers for the last 30+ years, I have learnt the importance of regularly saving work, backups, revision control, etc.), but I feel that punters putting down their hard-earned cash would respond in a somewhat more hostile manner. This kind of stability issue will require attention, especially as many customers initial experience with SM2 will consist of trawling through the presets just to get an idea what its capabilities are.

I shall go back to the stand-alone version later today and try a similar workflow to see if the same stability issues persist.

Overall, my feeling is that the stability is improving, but there is still some way to go before release. Stability included, SM2 just keeps getting better and better. I am no synth programmer (more an amateur musician), but even with the current UI, I am starting to become comfortable with the feature set, and have learnt a lot about synth (sound) programming in general since I became involved with thihs project 6 weeks ago.

Keep up the good work. R&E projects always take longer to finalise than first anticipated!

Thanks for the compliments, Ingonator and Lotuzia. You both do such terrific work. Your patches give SynthMaster some serious performance power!

Hey fellows, more presets are on the way from Brian "Xenos". He's doing an amazing job as well, just sent me his second batch today.

Regarding crashes during preset browsing, I'm still trying to reproduce that one.

Right now I'm editing his presets. I think he used too much unison to increase the output volume :D

Well, finally we have a new build: 1.9.9.24

Here are the updates/fixes from our release notes:

1. UPDATE: Our preset count has gone up to 334, thanks to Brian "Xenos" Lee!
We have also categorized almost all of the presets and normalized their volume levels.

2. FIX: SynthMaster crashes when ADSR Env Attack Slope Modulation Amount parameter is changed.

3. FIX: Switching the waveform type of LFOs from Step/Glide to Sin/Tri/Saw/Sqr crashes SynthMaster

4. FIX: Preset category List is not resetting/working correctly when new preset is loaded.

5. NEW: "New Skin" functionality added to the GUI editor.

6. NEW: "Copy Skin" functionality added to the GUI editor.

7. NEW: "Delete Skin" functionality added to the GUI editor.

Enjoy :)

I can confirm that this is fixed in Beta24.
