If you wanted to have all of Sunday for presets to be made the deadline should be Monday Oct 5 0:00 GMT.

I was interpreting the original deadline as the last minute to finish patches as 11:59pm Oct 3 GMT. The time 0:00 is a new day.

I'm fine with either date, I just want it to be clear so I know when to start collecting them up and posting them online. ;)

Fair enough :)

(In my defence I said midnight, not 0:00 GMT. I may very well be wrong, but to me midnight Sunday is part of Sunday night - anyway I think that was the way it was interpreted last time wasn't it? EDIT: Just checked, the deadline given for the last contest was "midnight Sunday", which was interpreted as the end of Sunday, I don't see why the confusion has arisen now and not then :? )

Ok, from now on we'll set it to the end of the weekend GMT time, for whatever given weekend the patch contest is set. ;)

Sorry for the confusion everyone, you have almost exactly 24h from now to make those presets!

Good lick!

:hihi: You can get some rest now.

So people on this side of the planet, only have like 12hrs left...right?
People who live in the Andromeda galaxy have like...2 million years, and 24 hours to complete their patches.

Well, I thought the contest was closed already (00:00 Sunday should be the beginning of the day, am I getting it right?)
No problem in extending the contest till the end of sunday, apart from the fact that I will be working on monday and will not be able to listen to the sounds ;-)

Did I miss something ? :hihi:

If you read the announcement at the beginning of this thread "00:00 Sunday" was not mentioned - rather the deadline was midnight Sunday. Like I say, I may be I'm mistaken, but I'd always thought that the convention was that midnight Sunday comes at the end of Sunday not the beginning. This was the interpretation used for the three previous contests so I don't see why the confusion has arisen now.

Reading back this is where the misunderstanding starts -

I should have read bmrzycki's clarification more carefully, rather than assuming that he was just repeating what I thought I was saying

Yes, that was the original thinking, to give folks a number of full weekends. :)

Yeh, there's probably been some confusion about what exactly midnight means. I agree that "end of sunday" (and of week) should be the standard for the contest ;-)

And a quick reminder for those who've already made the switch to 2.5 - make sure that your patches work in Zebra 2.3 and by that I mean when run in a Zebra 2.3 dll, and not a 2.5 version running in 2.3 mode.

I hope that makes sense :?

(I've just discovered that patches I made with 2.5.7 running in 2.3 mode sound very different when opened in a 2.3 Zebra)
