MDrummer stops in Live if you close the UI

Hey,
It's been like this for a while and it's a little annoying. (not too bad though) If you open a project with MDrummer in it (Live 8.0.4) and the UI hasn't been open it'll play for a bit and then stop. Bringing up the UI will make it start again, but it shouldn't be like that, should it? If I forget and close the UI it'll stop again after a while.

This might help, but I find that Jamstix has the same issue. It's probably a function or feature or bug on Live's part. It's been like this since Live v6.MeldaProduction wrote:Aaaaaha, interestingzerocrossing wrote:Hey,

So I checked and I think this may be the problem - Live assumes (stupidly btw.) that when there are no MIDI notes, then there is no reason to process the plugin, cos it does not generate any sound. Since you can trigger notes using GUI, when you open it, it will start processing too, because it just cannot tell if the plugin wants to generate something. Then when you close it and stop any MIDI, it says "ok, let's say after 60 seconds it should not generate any more sound", which is pretty stupid, but they consider it optimization
.
Maybe you can disable it somewhere (I'm not really a Live expert) or maybe contact the support. If it is this, then we cannot do anything about it, because if host doesn't want us to play, then we cannot force him.

Ah, well that explains it then. Thanks. Silly. I see now that when I am inputting MIDI it's fine and it's only when I start playing guitar for a while does it sleep. I don't see a way to turn it off. What's odd is that I have a Reaktor drum machine in an adjacent track that burbles along forever. Strange.

Well, you can try creating an extremely long note, or put there a note every 30 seconds or so. Or tell Ableton not to make such weird experiments

A short loop witha single note dies the trick!MeldaProduction wrote:Well, you can try creating an extremely long note, or put there a note every 30 seconds or so. Or tell Ableton not to make such weird experiments
