Once I normalize the preset levels I'm gonna make the new release #26.

There will be 3 fixes in this build:

1. FIX: EQ not working on layer 2
2. FIX: When Distortion is on with drive maxed out, and EQ/LoFi are on as well, there might be DC buildup on the sound output of SM2 causing it to be silent eventually.
3. FIX: When a preset is saved the current selected preset on the preset browser is reset.

Looks like we reached 417 presets, WOW! 30 more from Brian & 70 more from Martin we'll reach 500+ :D

Today the SM2 makes me angry - very angry :?

First Prob/Bug:

Present [BETA]Fac-T SQ LEDs - i change mod from normal to 2x, and then the LFO which modulates the Filter-Cutoff runs faster! Turn back to normal he runs normal... STRANGE :D

Second Prob - The Reverb

If i activate them, the volume goes up 6-10 db + - is that normal?^^
If it's activated, but mix turned down to 0%, and i change the distance, i hear this changing, although reverb-mix is at 0%! Confusing.

The reverb looks sometimes really stzrange, for example, if i set distance to 50% the sound, sounds so far away that sometimes i don't hear the sound^^ in my eyes not effectiv range of distance setting(inside the reverb). Only useful with very small setting, also the same with l-r setting, only useful with a small setting. with more than 10% it sounds to strange and unreal for a normal reverb.

Third Prob/Bug:

I load the present "[BETA]Fac-T SY SmoothSync" and change mode from normal to 2x, than i change in layer 1 OSc1 from saw to pulse, and Osc 2 also the same - and them big f*ck*ng noise which reached promptly to -0db peak and crash my daw... now my ears hurt - and my speakers too :x :lol:

atm not easy to work with the sm2 atm :(


actually i want to finish today the trance-bank, but every time when i going on the sm2 - came bugs.. if the next build kill this bugs, something new came... :shock:

btw some suggestions:

distortion:
different working modes for the distortion-effect
(distortion/clipping/saturation/and some untypical modes like in other distortion tools for example blofeld-filter -> binary, pickuo etc)

phaser:
where is he?^^

eq:
in small boosting he works to small, with bigger boosting he works than very sharp, perhaps smoother setting inside with other pole-setting?

reverb:
new reverb plz ^^

delay:
for left and right a hp/lp filter with single mit/feedback setting.
such simple as the korg mde-x-delay :wink:

layer:
perhaps changing the conception from 2 osc to 3 osc? :D

3osc is really a good idea ;)
Ingo, Rob, can you make some more waldorf-esque sounds? I mean those chilly pads and edgy leads and stuff? I don't have any Waldorf thingie nearby, and I'm too lazy to reactivate my Largo demo :P

This is a 1 filtered supersaw with 2 additive oscs and 2 adsrs used. No effects were used
The filter is nice, but the raw oscillator's digitalness comes out when I 'unleash' the sound with the filter. This is the problem with the lower end D&B reeces (2 saws detuned and overdrived, filtered)
I'd suggest adding a more analog saw wave (named Saw2, from SM1 maybe(?) or even dirtier than that) to the VA & Additive section, until the Additive gets that WT overhaul in the 2.1 (?) release.

Btw we beta testers should start making mp3 demos and spreading them in the internet till release. I'll go do some hardstyle and D&B ones and visit some music sites with those.

I just got a repeatable crash when switching between:

PAD 1 huge layer IIbSM.smpr
PAD brassy IV SM.smpr

I'll debug this tonight and hopefuly the fix will come. Since I have this finding I'll postpone the release until I fix the above issue as well.

For my part, deadline of the songcontest is 20th, today is the 13, and mhmmm, with this much bugs/crashes it's hard to work with the sm2.

At the one side, a really great synthmonster, with so much potential, but atm, you can't really use this potential for sounddesign, what makes me crazy^^
If you wanna usw all the great waveforms, you running danger for a systemcrash(waveform load) if you only use the basic oscc, and switching sometimes a waveform comes a noisebomb which kill for a minute your ears :lol:

for example, massvie(and he has only one layer - sm2 has 2^^) in only one hour work 6 great sounds:

(only + ext. reverb and a limiter on the mainout)

with sm2 i make in one hour only 2-3 sounds and 1 crash and 1 noisebomb :lol:

So i think it really pity, that the sm2 is atm not effectiv programmable :(

Mhmm.. Try - and then i strt to try and the noisebombs come back :hihi:

It's a little bit frustating. Big synth, much potential, and you can not really use all of them.

Btw, the enxt beta-build, what will comes there for "bigger" changes? for example reverb?
Because for example, i finish i the next day my part of factory content, and then came new features, or new reverb etc, and i must overwork then all presents :D
