The Machine as you say is very robust and will last for a long time as a very usefull device, the software is getting updated constantly as well as several tutorials.

This was posted April 25. 2009. The last software update is dated March 27. 2009.

Am I missing something here?

An other question. I want to use midi input with my masterkeyboard and usb for a midi controller. Is this possible at the same time?

yes, no problem - I'm personally using it that way; it even works with a further midi keyboard connected by usb (so two keyboards and one controller connected at the same time)

Hi! I'm using it with 3 controllers on a USB hub. It has to be active of course. And one USB port I use with my USB stick with banks and presets.

Please tell me: Is there a chance for the CPU Upgrade? Honestely, if these plans are chanceled it would be much more fair to tell us. I know, SM Pro Audio works on lots of other projects, are you still working on an improvement for the V-Machine?

Still hoping Paulustus

I also need to know.. If the CPU upgrade isn't going to happen, I need to move on.. Please SM PRO come clean! I've been checking this thread daily since I bought my V-machine last December and am starting to feel angry and foolish.
Just say it!

for me it is very important too, because I wanna use for example "surge" and Z3ta+ in the future in v-machine. It is possible to install them but impossible to work with them in v-machine.
One other question: does someone use midi plugins with success in v-machine?? If yes, please tell which are working.

I kind of view the CPU upgrade as bonus if it comes, but man... where are the OS updates and the bug fixes for VFX ? It's been quite a few months now and simple things like the Sync button still does not work with Sample Libraries.

The V-Rack was sitting squarely at the top of my "next purchase list" not long after I got my V-Machine, but I probably won't get one now because because of how slow SM Pro are and how poor VFX is. There are other options on the way which don't require Wizard files or even an external PC too.

Both keyboards and modules. I've seen the drawings for the U2 and U4 racks as well as photos of some of the keyboards, and they look really sweet.

I'd just like to post this up to help fellow newbies who are having problems with getting samples into the V-Machine.

Whether you're using SampleLord, Wave!, or Sam! (these are the only ones I've tested so I can't be sure whether this is a fix for all samplers) when the help files say your samples need to be next to the .dll in application data/./././plugs/{your sampler} they omitted to say that ALL your samples need to be in that folder BEFORE you sync to V-machine with the sampler.

I initially loaded SampleLord LE onto the V-machine with 1 sample just to test it out. Worked fine. Cool. So I then made another preset up with another sound and sent it to my V-machine. Then came the dreaded "Can't find file or folder" message for the new preset.

The reason it didn't work is that I only copied the second sample into my plugs/./sounds folder after I'd sent the test preset to the V-machine. I figure there must be a file listing every sample to load up to the V-Machine which goes with the initial sync of the sampler. If your second sample is not in that list, it can't find it. Thinking about it, when I synced Sampletank up to the V-machine it took forever. Now I realise it sent ALL samples to the V-Machine on first sync.

Looks like the only way to add to your samples in the future is to delete your sampler from the V-machine, then re-sync it with your new samples added to your sounds folder.

PS to all V-Machine veterans. If there's a better way to do this, Please let us know. :help:

Never use the SYNC button when dealing with samples. SM Pro Audio please FIX THE DAMN THING..!!!!! I'm getting really fed up of the complete lack of all support.

Anyway.....

When you have the samples running in VFX, use the Export Machine option instead (right click) and export to a memory stick. Pop that into the V-Machine and it will work with no problems whatsoever regardless of how much data you export in one go.

If you want run all that on the V-Machine without the memory stick, then you can get the V-Machine itself to import the data directly from the memory stick to the internal memory.

The lest you have to do with VFX the better to be honest. The V-Machine on the other hand works like a dream. Love it loads, but hate VFX with vengeance.

PS: I did some computer modelling for Lionstracs and this linux system is about 3 weeks away from being released. No external PC or VFX application or Wizzard files needed.

They can do
- cheap
- good
- fast

Pick two.
The factor of cpu power and user brain is always constant.

Has anyone managed to get the Korg Legacy M1 working on the V-machine?
I managed to get the Korg M1 Le version working using the wizard files posted along with an early version of the Wavestation but no luck with the full M1 version with my dongle. I tried adapting the wizard file but no luck.

in MY opinion, there is today no way to get dongle protected sofware working on the v-machine.
