I took the plunge & ordered a Tetra. The tempation of a brand new affordable analogue polysynth was just to tempting where the old gear lust is concerned

I got the Tetra on Tuesday. Tuesday evening I spent about 2 hours just going through the presets auditioning sounds from the 'Push it' button. Sounded bloody excellent. Hooked it up via USB last night & had more of a play around from a MIDI keyboard. This thing is going to be a lot of fun

I've not installed the software editor yet. It will be good to get a bit deeper with this thing. Sound wise though it's very nice. Especially on the bassy parts & filter sweeps. I find these areas always sound so much nicer than anything I've heard from software. And some of the patches that have voices stacked sound absolutely monstrous! Makes me wish I could actually play a keyboard to a level slightly more than a trained chimp!

Thanks for the update Dogboy, it sounds like you're having fun!
The software editor is definitely a must, the Mopho one is a lot more stable now than it was initially so i presume the Tetra one will be the same.

As far as your keyboard skills go, there's nothing better than a great sounding synth to make you want to play so i'm sure you'll improve in no time

I have the Mopho. Get a good midi controller with lots of twiddly knobs. Program NRPx's and twiddle away. Then do not need always to have the computer on. You can even program the 4x step seqencers in real time.

I have an Akai MPK49 MIDI controller keyboard. It's bus powered so the computer needs to be on for it to operate, which is fine. It can be powered from the mains supply but I'm okay with it as is. I'm going to make a patch on the MPK49 to assign the knobs & faders to Tetra parameters. Having the software editor is great but obviously it's better to get more hands on

Loving the Tetra though. It sounds great

I'm still only really just going through the presets but they are so good & inspirational. Looking forward to doing some programming with this. The possibilities with the x4 16-step sequencers, x4 LFO's & all the other modualtion routing is going to be fantastic to explore. With the software editor I'd say the Tetra is a programmers dream. It's simple enough for novices to get going but with enough complexities for more experienced programmers to get very creative & experimental. Fantastic

Listen...I'm not gonna kid you and I'm not going to kid me. I had bought the little phatty and the prophet 08 from my local sam ash. Not going to bore you with details. The prophet 08 keyboard remained; the little phatty didn't. Yeah the little phatty as a phat warm sound but there is more potential with the prophet 08. Plus with the other external gear and samplers that I have, I can come close to reproducing mr. monophonic phatty...no wonder they call him little (no offense to the guys and no I am not a female)

It's going to be a lot of fun to use there's no doubt about that. I've not had a chance to get stuck into this thing yet as I've been away since buying it. But I'm getting quite excited thinking about the possibilities with this thing. The modulatino routing is very comprehensive & it has some really nice features that are going to be very useful to me I think.
