According to that logic, Sampletank 2.5, Sonik Synth 2 and Miroslav Philharmonik will give me about a trillion times as many 'synthwaves' by using multis...Dr.Wu wrote:333 multisamples and a two layer architecture will give you 110889 different synthwaves to work with.
If it is streaming, why does it require 4GB of RAM? Isn't that the whole point of streaming samples - that they don't reside in RAM?Captain wrote:But isn't it doing just that...?sonkeysankey wrote:Why doesn't it just stream large samples?

Exactly. There is no need for it to 'require' 4GB of RAM, other than piss poor programming. But I'm sure many here are foolish and gullible enough to be able to convince themselves that the fact that it DOES require a ludicrous 4GB of RAM (for BASS sounds!) means it's 'powerful' and 'amazing'.hibidy wrote:So it's bloody amazing, I expected nothing less. And, it's a very reasonable price. However:
-I'm really worried about the ram usage. Hopefully that won't be as big an issue as some have alluded to, but I'm still going to have to wait until PC/32bit users come online and give real world results. If the only thing you can use is trilian, how are you going to compose?
At any rate I enjoyed the videos and feel that trilian is going to become a superb addition for many, though I have a feeling only those with the state-of-the-art computers will be able to run it without allot of workarounds.

Hi Harry_HH,
The RAM requirements are for the extremely detailed multi-sampled acoustic basses (you can almost hear the flesh burning off the fingertips). I will tell you that for many of the patches, 2 Gigs has proven sufficient for me. There is a "lite" mode as well that removes enough of the samples so you can play some of the larger patches on systems with less RAM.
Best,
Haven't Spectrasonics heard of disc streaming?
Still, if it brings your PC to its knees it must be good...
OK, clearly we again have a case of someone utterly hating a company and every little thing they do, no matter what it is.sonkeysankey wrote: If it is streaming, why does it require 4GB of RAM? Isn't that the whole point of streaming samples - that they don't reside in RAM?
Everyone....please note that the Trilian System Requirements page was changed right after the website went live due to the misconceptions and confusion this spec has seemed to cause.sonkeysankey wrote:Exactly. There is no need for it to 'require' 4GB of RAM
Yes.sureno wrote:so this is normal then? doesnt seem to check for updates either
Yes, it was incredible! I didn't even realise you could buy about five hundred different models of HD resolution camcorders for under £200...christianmusicmaker wrote:The production quality of the videos are superb...HD maybe. Nice and big widescreen format.
Shot with an audience it appears...

Spectrasonics does have disc streaming. Doesn't it work in cracked copies?.
By the way, Sample Tank licenses sell at $40 at the Market Place right now. I thought you would like to know about it:

Not only are you a rude, spiteful little boy/girl who obviously hates Spectrasonics and their products, but you also talk very rude to others that are involved in the discussion. Next time, maybe you should think long and hard before you decide to post something critical that has no bearing on, well, ANYTHING.sonkeysankey wrote:Yes, it was incredible! And they couldn't even afford a tripod.
What are you talking about, Christianmusicmaker? Anybody can shoot video of that quality using any HD camcorder on the market. What on Earth does "Shot with an audience it appears" mean? Is that supposed to be something in the video's favour? Quite obviously Eric Persing was talking to an audience throughout... Did you have a 'Rapture' while watching it?
Any comments, Liteon?sonkeysankey wrote:Because you simply can't hear the differences when the bass is in a mix.
