I eventually got the Latest version of Synth Master to work,

It was crashing my Sonar 8.3 so I cleaned my registry with CCleaner and then Synth Master worked, with out crashing Sonar!!! I still battled with the notes sticking on STOP/START for my sequences, the only way to stop this was to either Disconnect the synth in the Synth-rack view or to double click on the presets so doing to reset the Synth. I think that this is a great synth and will hope to recieve further Updates for this synth!! I would also like to to stay on the beta testers team for your Synth if you don't Mind. By the way, we that have got a NFR licence for the competition will we also recieve updates past the 1.9.9.27 version. I would like to feature SynthMaster in my future projects please!!!

Hanging notes is a common problem for Cakewalk products!? Others reported the same with Project 5 as well. Hopefuly this weekend I'll debug that.

Happens with FL9 as well, but only on some patches...and it seems completely random

(been trying to pick a pattern for the occurrence... but there's none that I can see).

I can't get Synthmaster Beta 27 to work with the latest Reaper. It wanted to scan the folder of Synthmaster, then 'froze'. No windows with scanning and others. After reruns, Reaper sees everything other than Synthmaster.

Could that be the demo version of SynthMaster?
or... did you place the license file in the SM2 folder?

Reaper has a problem with plugins showing up modal dialogs during it's scanning.

I have the license placed in the right folder. I suppose it's the dialog issue. Maybe disabling the dialog box, please? I'll also try writing to some Cockos folks

It works in Reaper for me. When Reaper's initial VST scan (after SM2 is installed) at startup happens, it takes a while for SM2 to set itself up. Maybe you didn't give it enough time. Once the scan completes, SM2 still didn't show up in the "instruments" or "vsti" sections for me. It did show up in the "new" section. Go to the VST options and check the "Get VST names..." option and then click on the "Rescan directory" button. After that, SM2 should show up in the appropriate sections. At least it worked that way for me. Hope this helps!

... and make certain that you are using the beta version instead of the demo version. I made that mistake earlier and the demo version failed.

It has been scanning since 30 minutes, it is THE BETA 27 as I've mentioned earlier. But with the 'cache clean and rescan' function I was able to check the first dialog box. Now it freezes after that

OK - sorry my input didn't help. FWIW - I am on WinXP SP3

Maybe this will help - my settings for the VST configuration menu.

Items checked:

Get VST plug-in names...
Save full VST plug-in
Save as bank...
Better buggy process...

Everything else unchecked.

Hope you get it sorted.

Hi Everyone!

I just finished my work on the new GUI, so a new build is coming tonight (my time of course

)

Now that the GUI is done I'll concentrate on the web site for the next couple of days.

Still we have remaining issues to solve:

1. SM2 VSTi crashes FL9 upon launch
2. SM2 VSTi crashes Ableton Live upon launch
3. Mono-legato mode annoyances
4. Notes hanging on Cakewalk products.

Until the official release the above will be listed as "Known Issues". Hopefuly in 2 weeks I'll fix them as well.

it still dont crash. Have not been able to reproduce the hanging notes. I dont remember which presets that did that. Have been through several presets now without hanging notes

With Ableton Live, a friend of mine reported timing problems with loops. Didnt have a chance to fix it though. Once we roll out build 28 + updated web site + press releases, we'll concentrate on fixing the remaining issues!
