Aren't you a Reaper user? you can dry/wet any plugin in Reaper...
all these posts above explain why it would not work...
oversampling here involves iir (phase non-linear) filters which mess up frequency response if mixed with dry signal. Bootsie proposed a solution of doing dry/wet internally, so dry signal also passes thru the filters and is phase coherent with wet.
as a sidenote, using linear phase for this would probably involve quite large kernel to get filter steep enough and that would mean some nasty pre-ringing in the highest treble. may not be worth it...

The manual says sweet spot is track at 0 dbs with int. bumps into red. To get the track feedig into this at anything close to popping 0 I have to insert gain plugin ahead of this and then and gain plugin behind to lower as the trim does not do enough. At this level it is just nasty distortion. This is with good recorded tracks between -12 and -6 peak dbs. I must be missing something.
Maybe sensitive accoustic stuff or maybe a plug-in internal bug which appears in your config.
Would you mind to send me a short audio example (dry and wet) together with the plug-ins settings and pre and post level adjustments?

You mean placing dry/wet inside oversampling stage?
exactly.
meloco_go wrote: However, out of curiosity, is it that hard to make linear-phase oversampling engine? Of course CPU hit is much higher and you'd have latency, ...
thats the point (plus the pre-ringing) and atm I do not have plans for that.

this really is great -but the only trouble is that sounds suddenly seem a bit lacking in character once you use ferric for a while and then turn it off

It seems to make sounds 'fit' into your ears better- down the narrow path to your eardrum..its going to get quite a few votes for sure!

Sorry for the late 'jump in'..

This is bluddy brilliant Boostie! :D

Thanks for the entry!

Hahaha! Nice trouble, isn't it? :hihi:

What?

Just tried it on a female R&B lead vocal. PHAT BUTTA...I mean it makes the vocal sounds bigger and feel closer. The singer herself even noticed. Very very nice indeed. Thanks again Bootsie.

Yes, exactly - thanks, Michu! :)

Christ, the GUI on this thing is seeeeeeeexy.
Be nice if ALL your plugs had the same kinda GUI scheme going on, Herb. :hihi:

Bootsy, any thoughts on why ferric wont work with my system? I realy want to use it! I have Cubase Sx3, Windows XP sp2, AMD X2 4800+.

Post

would it be possible make zero latency version? possible if you take off th limiter?

Post

Man I'm loving this!! Really nice sound and great GUI!! Loving those knobs!

Post

Many people requested an input level dial or pad switch - so, what range should be covered if there would be one?

It's already zero, no?

+/-12db maybe? Then probably output trim should be extended as well to make it possible to compensate level change.
