Is there some small chance to have Uhbik-X this year?

Extremely small I'm afraid :-| I've been cursed with so many strange bugs this year (literally so, because I think I'm still suffering from poisoned water I drank in Italy, which is why I'm currently doing a six-weeks-no-alcohol-no-nothing health trip - which is why I think that so many bugs occurred right after my vacation, and I'm still finding them), I'm stunned how the time passes by in an instant when hardly anything ever gets done perfect enough to say "it's finished". Or maybe I'm just overly picky as well.

However, on a positive note, I've sent beta 10 out for a sanity check with the beta team. With some luck we'll have a new version by tomorrow (doesn't fix the FL/Window/ArpSwing bugs, but fixes a lot of other issues and adds a nice couple of enhancements)

(a little warning... I've done a few tests in Cinema 4D to see if it's viable to redo the whole Zebra 2.5 graphics in an even more solid look... that would easily cost us another week)

While I love the new look you're developing, I can't imagine anyone is expecting you to redo the 2.5 GUI yet again. We're all probably almost as eager as you are to see this release out the door and off your plate.

Yeah... it's just... I recently did this and people seem to be quite happy about it, including myself. So I thought why not, because I'm pretty comprehensive with the modeling aspects right now. If I wait half a year I'll have forgotten about it almost completely.

On the other hand... yeah... I'd be *very* happy to get it off my plate.

Really nice UI. :)

There's no question that this new GUI is oozing with polish and professionalism. If Zebra is to remain skinnable, I think it's great to have more interface variety. I really have a soft spot in my heart for the Unempty Dark Horse theme though. I guess I just love those mellow pastel colors. :)

OMG! That is a beautiful GUI! I could stare at it all day.... week.... month.

yeah, I may be one of the few who would wait the extra week for a gui like acesynth.

+10000 for the new GUI!

BTW, just to tell you that I really like that central window where you can see the waveform. For a beginner it's easier to understand what's doing what when you can hear and also see what's happening.

10th beta is available:

http://www.u-he.com/Z25b10Mac.zip (AU, VST, RTAS)
http://www.u-he.com/Z25b10Win.zip

- Reverb (Zebra/Zebrify/Zelette) adds up to 250ms Pre-Delay
- Delay adds "serial 2" mode for true monosum->ping pong delays
- Right-Click on any Tab and make it default - whenever you open a Zebra again, it'll open at that tab

Also

- some bugfixes (2 serious crash bugs)
- XMF-Bias erased from automatable parameter list, replaced by Overload
- Zebra2.data can now be moved with a Windows Shortcut placed next to .dll (Win only)

8)

(no fix for Arp/Swing bug and Window-Not-Activated, I'm still concentrating on the possible crash bugs)

Cheers,

;) Urs

Thanks for the feedback on ACE 8)

Yeah, hmmm. Thing is, even if I re-did Zebra's gui in a similar way (parallel projected 3D), there's no way to tell up front if it'll look as good. In the end, knobs will be smaller and there's simply much more content to be squeezed into that space.

The oscilloscope may be cool, but it's also rather resource hungry on the graphics side. With the ui density of Zebra (scrolling, tabs) I'm intentionally keeping the amount of visual feedback low. I might one day switch to Direct-X and OpenGL though, so that at least the cpu side would be fine with some more fancy stuff.
