hi vojtech,

suggestions for a future upgrade.

it would be nice if i could right click a type and have an option to freeze the contents of that section (a padlock icon?).

how about a quarter bar, a half bar, four bar, or 8 bar fill?

cheers

Well, technically why not ;).
But the "freezing" - what should it do exactly?

if i have the drums perfect for a section of the song then i could lock that part and whatever else i do with mdrummer it wouldn't effect that part - saved forever unless i decided to unlock it.

this would also mean i could have more than one style of rhythm on the drum track. ie the verse could be jungle and the chorus funk.

In fact I perfectly agree with soulxcity. I have this problem actually with a song of mine that combines a jungle (brush set) groove in the instrumental intros, more complicated in verses ending up with a salsa latin groove in the chorus. I broke my head trying to find a solution on mdrummer coz I find his salsa groove composition amazing. But I think he restricts me not to sophisticate so much :( . Any solutions?:) [/img]

I don't know if this will work for you, but you can have different types or rhythms of different channels, 1 through 9. Then have the notes you are using trigger beats and breaks send on the appropriate MIDI channel to the MDrummer plugin. You need be be sure to turn off the previous channel, meaning send a silence signal on the previous channel when you trigger beats on the new channel.

Exactly!

(I think there is a video-tutorial for it). Basically you need to stop one rhythm and start another one (each is controlled by particular MIDI channel).
Trouble is, when you want the other one be played with different drumset. In that case you have to open another MDrummer instance. So basically it can be easily solved too.

The lock idea as defined above is unfortunately impossible, because each rhythm channel just needs to have just one rhythm (obviously). BUT nothing stops you from using with using multiple rhythms, even overlapping, using song structures or MIDI commands.

Might be easier to render the one drumkit to audio. Then switch MDrummer to the second. And render that one to audio as well...
