GUI is nice, price is really nice. This is the first time in a long while I've been intrigued by a new synth. Cool!

Post

Wow the Gui is excellent.Congrats to the designer.

How soon before we get more audio demos? I can only listen to the beehive wave so many times ;-)
My webcomic that has absolutely nothing to do with music, plugins, technology or football: http://friedcheeseballs.com/start

How's come you can't buy all the products from the same website? If somebody wanted to buy Uhbik and Acesynth they have to go to www.uhbik.com and then too www.acesynth.com?

If you do all your shopping on the web with a pre-paid card, you are going to get extra charges.

IMHO.....

Also!

How many different filters in Runciter? Lp, HP, Comb? BP? What are the filters? Like an LP 4 pole? Or something like this?

Also!

Are Acesynth and Bazzille two different synths? They look different to me. But.... gosh, sometimes I can not tell. I think they are different. but either way, no worries, cause I think this is a cool project..

From the manual:
Runciter follows the "state variable" filter principle, and can deliver lowpass, bandpass and highpass forms simultaneously, with a variable amount of resonance.

From Urs:
It's a "precursor" to Berlin Modular. Some people asked in the Bazille/Berlin thread if I could release something up front, because the wait is too long to bear until it's released... I suggested to put things together in a MS-20-style fashion. The idea is, once Berlin Modular is released any owner of Ace receives a voucher of the full price of Ace to be put towards Berlin Modular.

Feature-wise Ace *seems* heavily underspec'ed, but it's really deep anyhow:

- 2 x LFO (1 sine, 1 sine/tri/saw/sqr) 0Hz - 20kHz
- 2 x ADSR (same as Bazille)
- 2 x VCO (saw/pwm) 0Hz - 20kHz, VCO1 with SubOsc
- 2 x VCF (almost same as Bazille, but only two outlets: LP1/LP2/LP3/LP4, HP/BP/BR)
- 2 x VCA/Pan
- 2 x Multiples (as in Bazille)
- 1 x Mixer (Osc balance, Sub, Noise, Aux)
- 1 x Ramp Generator (up->hold->down->rest, loops if rest < 100)
- 1 x noise (white, pink)
- 1 x the common extras, such as Glide/Glide2
- 1 x stereo chorus (global)
- 1 x ping pong delay (global)
- 1 x Bass/Treble booster (global)

25 signal sources, 30+ signal targets, some paths wired internally so that it makes noise even without a single cable attached (think ARP 2600).

100% free of Supersaw. Instead it has:

- exceptional sync /w FM (VCO1->VCO2, think Virus)
- LFOs that can be used as additional VCOs an vice versa
- exceptional filter sound including convincing self oscillation

Well, it has merely become a conceptual marriage between ARP 2600 and SH-7, with a touch of SynthiA. Soundwise however it's rather on the aggressive side.

I'm pleased to say that it does many of those synth sounds that I could never get, specifically reminiscent to Yello and Trevor Horn. It does a good impersonation of the bass sound in New Order's Blue Monday (or rather the idealised version I still have in my head).

Ok...

Sounds cool! I was kinda hoping for a comb filter in RunCiter. @ Urs... Any possibility of a, "wild comb," in the upcoming Uhbik Rack?

Also, about having to buy your products using several different websites, rather than one shopping cart.....

Cause hypothetically, if I wanted to buy Uhbik and Acesynth somewheres around this xmas season, it looks like it would cost me $4 or $5 instead of $1 or $2..... I don't know if you have any plans to connect your websites and what not, but say, if I have to buy Uhbik on uhbik.com and then Acesynth on acesynth.com, I have to pay for the privilage of shopping/banking twice..........

Crazy Corporations!!!!!!!

Screws everything up for the little guy, but....

Have you tried the Uhbik demo yet? It might help to answer some questions . . . if you have the demo, I think there are some presets for D / F / P that are declared as 'combs' in the patch name or patch notes you might be interested in, some very comby processing can be done in other modules as well. The demo license doesn't expire, just inserts static, so that's not something to worry about.

I did the Uhbik demo last year. I remember Uhbik is incredibly hi fi sounding stuff. Last year, I had to choose between Uhbik and Unique. This year, I'm choosing between picking up some Ohm Force at the new lower price, or buying AceSynth, Uhbik, etc.

:tu: :tu:

So...

I'm not exactly sure if the delay, flange, phaser presets will do it for me. I'm going to download the demo again, and let you know.

Do get Uhbik, it's an ace effect bundle.

Yeah, well....

The Uhbik stuff is just, "wow cool." but, there is nothing I can find, in demoing them, in the ten minutes I care to spend demoing them, that makes me think, "comb filter."

That doesn't mean I wont buy them. They are so hi-fi, and lovely, I'm pretty sure its these and ace synth, when ace comes out.

But I'm still terribly desperate for another comb filter. So there!

Yep, the demo's running on my machine again. I'm sure I'll pick these up, they are so choice.

I believe that, even though the marketing copy and "buy here" buttons are on separate websites, all U-He products are sold through a common Share-it account. If you log-in to share-it and then add Uhbik and any other U-he product to your cart before checking out they will all appear on the same bill.

While comb filters are something you can achieve with Uhbik F or D (I cant wait till X comes out so I can put S in a feedback loop with D!) MFM2 is really the shining start of combs. Trust me on this. :)

Very pretty.

8) 8)

I just downloaded the demo of more feedback, and filterscape as well. Thats over $400 when you add the cost of Uhbik and Acesynth.

Although I might be able to avoid Filterscape due to my, "why the hell do I need another synth," policy. More Feedback Machine seems really cool.
