LFO waveshaping

If you modulate an LFO's phase with the LFO itself in the modulation matrix, it's possible to smoothly control the shape of the LFO. It's probably best to set the initial phase of the LFO to 50 (halfway). The LFO's shape will deviate as you increase the modulation amount from 0. This allows, for example, a triangle LFO to become more like a saw or ramp wave. Further modulations are possible with the "via" slot. If you put another LFO on there it sounds really cool! Sorry if someone's discussed this already, but I was looking for a way do this this kind of thing and couldn't find any posts on the topic. Also, let me know if anyone knows of a better way do this or other similar techniques

you could use an MSEG for the modulation of the shape..way more flexible imo..
but nice idea anyway!!
cheers

yeah, that would absolutely work if the MSEG was in sync with the LFO... once everything's all synced up, anything can be used as a waveshaping source and this might be more flexible. the above method works independently of other modules though, so it can be used, for example, on the global LFO when it isn't synced to tempo or gate messages. thanks for the tip

it would rock if we could morph lfo as we can with osclilators.
