The last few months T2 is taking forever to load up. It seems to be checking for plugins forever. Maybe I need to uninstall some plugins ? Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how I can fix this?

You can deactivate plugin-search at startup, in your plugins settings. I only activate this when I have a bunch of new plugins installed.

I was having this problem. It was my virus scanner. I stopped it from checking DLLs and the checking time went from 20 minutes to 1.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

i have AVG anti-virus. I've looked but cant find where you stop it from checking DLLs. where do you adjust this ??

Just disable the antivirus when you open T2, then you can switch it on again.

Avoid being connected to the internet though when you do that.

I had the same whith both T2 and T3 which are both installed in my computer.

It might mean you have too many plugins and you have installed them at different times.

What I did was create a space specificaly for my plugins and put them in 3 seperate folders or 3 paths for tracktion to search. So what you realy need is a fresh plugin scan. Change label on your current plugin folder then load tracktion and it should come up straight away. Then reorganise your plugins into 2 or 3 main folders(which are subdivided into other folders). Set Tracktions plugin search for one folder or path at a time. For each path you might need to re-start your computer. Also don't have tracktion search for plugins everytime you startup and when you do add new plugs just search for what is new or missing at that time.
