The bugs from plugins may be very subtle or in some case very nasty but extremly difficult to isolate and appear at the worst possible time.

This has very little (if anything) to do with getting plug-ins (or updates to plug-ins) to install on the Receptor. It is the proprietary nature of your setup that is making things more difficult.

Regardless, with the imminent release of i7 Laptops, I see no reason for any of these VST 'black boxes'.

Ah! But you don't end up owning a product made by a company that:

1.) Makes promises about updates to your product that never seem to surface.
2.) Locks you into a over-simplified user interface.
3.) Caters to the lowest common denominator.
4.) Doesn't communicate well with its customers.

Perhaps you have never owned a Muse Receptor.
