I'll have the latest beta / preview of ACE out in a bit. That one come swith a new installer that lets you choose where to put the resource files.pgvpgv333 wrote:Hi

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I mouse at work with my left hand to give my right wrist a break.ghettosynth wrote: Thanks. It's actually a deal breaker for me. I mouse left handed and it's a HUGE workflow issue to have to mentally switch buttons. It's not just left handed people that mouse left handed. A lot of right handed people switch due to RSI issues. As an added bonus it allows you to mouse and write at the same time

I think I sussed out a lot of details for the 3rd synth.
I asked Eric from Analog To Digital if he would mind if I called it somthing along the lines of "Lush Modular" or L.u.s.h. as they have had a synth called "Lush" for quite a while. He doesn't mind
So as of current planing the three main synths in Berlin Modular will be
- Bazille (modular FM/PD synth)
- ACE XL (see ACE, but twice as many things)
- L.u.s.h. (lush u-he synth, supersaws, pads + formant filters)
Later,
Urs

Actually, I think the current versions of Zebra and Uhbik have fixed any issues with swapped mouse buttons. Not 100% sure with ACE.Tronam wrote:Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm not huge on supersaws, but I do like a good synth that excel at pads and swirly things.
I hope you'll be posting details as they happen on uhniverse. I regularly check it for news

Mmmmmm. Formant filters. Yum.Urs wrote:- L.u.s.h. (lush u-he synth, supersaws, pads + formant filters)
I know we get them somewhat in Zebra (particularly with the 2.5 XMF changes) but they're kind of difficult to tame. I'd like something in the U-he world that can do quite striking vocal / choir patches, not the more subtle, muted, wobbly ones we've generally seen so far.

hey urs
stop teasing
when can we have them?
bazille is becoming indispensible
and i'm worried it will time out.....

LOL, well, if you really need to do a comparison, then the current version of ACE corresponds to Cypher (audio rate modulation all over the place). ACE XL is going to be a way larger system though.gentleclockdivider wrote:- Bazille (modular FM/PD synth)..LIke in D.CAM .cypher ?

Bazille has no equivalent in D-Cam as Bazille is strictly *digital* (FM/PD)
Berlin Modular is not going to have any equivalent to Strobe or Amber as I'm not interested in synths with a hard wired audio structure. Also, Berlin Modular is not going to be an All-Analog-Modelling suite like D-Cam. One could however say that L.u.s.h. as far as it is (planning stage) has similarities to both Strobe and Amber, but still with flexible audio rate routing of all components.
The general concept for Berlin Modular however pre-dates my knowledge of Synth Squad by a couple of years, first source code for ACE and Bazille was written in 2005. The seeming coincidence results from technology: As cpus become fast enough, D-Cam and BM have become possible. More of these beasts can certainly be expected by other companies as well.
A key aspect of Berlin Modular's concept used to be a hosting system with a step sequencer. Unfortunately that idea was dropped for now as it's simply too much work and focus shifted from performance aspects to sound design aspects.

Aaaaawwwwwww. I like step sequencers. It'd be really interesting to see a U-he take on that.Urs wrote:A key aspect of Berlin Modular's concept used to be a hosting system with a step sequencer. hello Urs. last time i demoed ACE, a was really impressed. Only one thing seems difficult to me - if we have many wires, then they just overlap buttons, so for the new customer it can be uncomfortable. Is there any way to make wires visible through, like glass?
