Hi there,
sorry that i have to say this, but there are some issues with ACE:
Installed the demo.
Fine.
Live won't start anymore and goes down with a serious program error during startup.
Furthermore, when i wanted to uninstall ACE, there's no uninstaller.
Nowhere. Why is that? I havew to delete anything manualy? Whats with my registry, do i even have to clear it out all by myself also?
This is not what i excpect when i pay for something.
Cheers

The Uninstallation process is described in the installation manual. There's also a hint about my not-touching-the-Registry-at-all policy:
A serious program error hints at lacking support for SSE2. Could that be it?INSTALLATION.pdf wrote:Uninstalling ACE
The installation is very transparent. There are no secret files involved nor any entries in the
Registry. Thus to uninstall simply drag ACE.dll and ACE.data into your trash. We're just not sure
why anyone would do that

Hi Urs,
nope SSE2 can not be the problem, i'm running the SSE2 Version of epicverb with no probs at all.
And sorry for not reading the installation hints. My fault!
I still crashes Live (8.04 also) though...

Hmmm. Does it still crash if you run Live as an administrator? Maybe it's a file permission that's scrambled.
Oh, and does it run with SaviHost? <- http://www.hermannseib.com/

good news, found the problem!
I installed all content into the VST directory. Everything in one Folder (i do that everytime, when possible). And now, that i reinstalled it with the content to the programs directory, it works!
... but, there's nothing in the gui
just a empty wrapper window.... (huge btw)

Hmmm... the should be a shortcut called ACE.data.lnk (the .lnk is not visible in Explorer) that points to the actual data directory. This shortcut must be in teh same directory as ACE.dllFG445 wrote:good news, found the problem!

I suspect though that the crash has something to do with a file not being found or not being able to load. I'll add some more security code around teh file handling routines. This should really not happen
You could help me big time if you installed DbgView from Microsoft:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx
Just open DbgView, then instantiate ACE. ACE will print a lot of information into DbgView, and you could send me that information to anybody@u-he.com

Yep, thanks. We think it was an installation issue. It's solved now!Download SOphist wrote:it is working fine on Live 8.0.9 here. just a heads up.
