Check out the Lehmkul basses in particular. You'll never get that kind of sound out of a Nord modular and I love my Nords. I think if you dig a little deeper you'd be surprised at what ACE is capable of.paladium wrote:
the soundquality should not be judged on a sound with the effects added, just the raw unneffected sound, the warmth of the oscillator -filter -vca path
is inherent in the model , you dont just add warmth with a chorus as an afterthought.
if you took for instance the analog prophet 5 , it didnt have effects onboard
yet the sound was chorussy and warm when you listened to the signal dry,
if you talk about plugins or another modular plugin like arturia modular then you will notice that the dry sound is fuller than that of ace , but maybe you went for a digital modular emulation, the sound reminds me a bit of nord modulars, for soundfield okay i agree that isnt a major factor
im not critisising your work here , i said i liked the filter characteristics
of ace and the gui , i just found that even with added effects it sounded a
bit to pinched and somewhat clinical , dont take it personal , im sure there will be plenty that will like it

Agreed. Lehmkuhl has done some really interesting cabeling there. Will have to study those more intensely.Tronam wrote: Check out the Lehmkul basses in particular. I spent a good hour with ACE last night. I will be buying this as soon as I get paid. The sound quality and fun factor has impressed me more than any other synth I've ever used. The last synth to impress me was NI massive, the one before that was sylenth1. However, the filter on ACE just blows everything else away. It reminds me of soundtoys filterfreak; a proper (emulated) analog filter, but without the hefty price tag.
I just hope any problems that may arise in FL won't be to much trouble to deal with, because I'm sold on this whole range of products.
This is the future of digital synths. Congratulations Urs, you're a genius, and very generous
