Like it says.
Noob: Can't connect to receptor pro 2 on Mac Leopard PPC laptop
Network preferences sees the IP address on dcp. But Remote control program comes up empty each time.
Tried every way of starting up.
What's the matter. Help?

Hey Brutze,
You'll probably have to inspect the IP address settings on Receptor first. To view Receptor's IP settings just press 'setup' button on the front panel. Then move the top display knob (the one labeled 'push for channle') clockwise until you find TCP/IP setup. Just move the bottom knob (push to apply) around to select a mode and push it in to load the mode. Here you can change between auido DHCP, maunual and crossover. If you have a router in your network that your hooking up through you'll have to be on DHCP, otherwise if your connected directly to the receptor with a single cable you'll have to have it in Crossover mode. More info about networking can be found in this knowledge base article http://www.plugorama.com/customer/kb.php?kbid=06121401

Aah ok More detail.
I have the receptor in crossover mode. cable is direct ethernet crossover. Network preferences are set. The mac sees it somehow (although the IP adresses don't match between the ethernet setting on the mac and the receptor itself).
I've followed the instrtions on the video to the letter.
Everything seems correct. Only the app on the mac doesn't see my receptor.

Brutze,
Do you mind letting me know what the IP addresses are that Receptor has/your mac has?
If you also have a wireless airport connection running you may try turning that off.

No problem:
Mac:
Built in ethernet: Self assigned IP (something wrong here)
Status Connected:
Built-in Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect.(!)
Using DHCP
IP Address:*****DELETED******
Subnet Mask:*****DELETED******
__________________________
Receptor:
Mode:Crossover
*****DELETED******
?
sorry, not too good with network setups.
I did try switching the airport off. Didn't seem to help.
Thanks for your attention
Really helps.
Under quite a bit of pressure right now.

Brutze,
It appears that the networking is not set correctly on your mac. Go into system preferences, and then to Networking. Select 'ethernet' form your list of connections and click on advanced. Make sure ipv4 is set to configure using 'DHCP'. Click on the DHCP renew lease button, then press apply.
