GC has a BBE AM-64 American Metal pedal for $20 this weekend.

Post

This seems too good to be true, but MF has listed:

http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/pr ... =146553457

Ez Drummer + Akai MPD 18 for $99.

Post

I haven't spotted this in any of the other deal threads, though I could have missed it considering how frenetic we've been here lately:

It looks like CW is mutating their holiday deal page some more. These prices are for registered Cakewalk customers. (I double-checked this time...)

Beat Fetish for $20/20EUR: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/Pro ... BF1.00-30C

Kinetic 2 for $9.99/9.99EUR: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/Pro ... KN2.00-30C

I know nothing about these products, but I remember reading some posts by people who like Kinetic 2 a lot... Though I have the impression it's mostly for loop-kids, kind of a competitor for Acid.

EDIT: Here's a positive review from Peter Kirn at CDM: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2006/06/0 ... nd-sounds/

Looks like you can get beyond the simple loopy stuff with Kinetic, with it being a pretty capable program for beat-making, with the ability to import your own wavs, QWERTY entry, VST-loading, and can be a Rewire client. Interesting.

I don't think so, assuming that you're talking about the Cakewalk deals.... Prices listed are USD, Euros, and Pounds. :)

sockofgold -- Damn. That's a killer deal on the EZDrummer and MPD18. You got sharp eyes, as they really have the 'Free Gift' of the MPD tucked away.

I'm not sure what's going on, or if anyone here cares, but it looks like Audio-Technica may be dropping prices on some of their mics. Will be interesting to see if it spreads.

BHPhotovideo has the AT2035 on sale for $101 after you put it in the shopping cart: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Nt ... Search=yes

It's a decent condenser mic, and has always been $149 everywhere.

I'd chalk that up to a weekend sale, but their entry-level AT2020, which also gets good reviews, has dropped from about $100 down to $80 in multiple places, including at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT2020-A ... B0006H92QK

They've also got the AT2041 bundle, which includes the AT2020 and the AT2021, for $114: http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT2041-S ... ref=sr_1_1 with the same price at BHPhotovideo.

All of these apparently are pretty good home studio mics.

Be advised that Cakewalk tried to charge $8.95 shipping for Kinetic. Maybe not a deal breaker for some but caused me to back out.

Sale Price: $899.00
Korg Radias with Keyboard plus extra headphones and sustain pedal.

This is only $250 more than what I paid for a used Radias Rack without the keyboard or the after market headphones and sustain pedal. I still wouldn't have bought this, but I thought some of you guys might be interested.

Downloadable versions of Absynth, Reaktor, FM8 and Massive all 99 dollars or Euros this weekend from the NI shop - http://www.native-instruments.com/en/sp ... newsletter. Not for me, and the dollar / Euro parity really is infuriating, but a good bargain for you Americans!

Just a tip for anyone in the UK/Europe - If you go on the Cakewalk store you can pick up Massive, FM8 and Absynth 5 at an improved price (£74 or 89 Euros)

UK pricing: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cgbp/ca ... egoryID=39 (http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cgbp/category.aspx?categoryID=39)
EUR pricing: http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2ceuro/c ... egoryID=39 (http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2ceuro/category.aspx?categoryID=39)

Unfortunately they're not selling Reaktor but still a saving if you're looking at the other synths!

Post

Couldn't someone in the US buy and then do a transfer to an EU user? I see no legitimate reason to be ripped off for downloadable software just for not being located in the US. For a small difference, maybe. This ~1.5x markup is just absurd.

That's a nice extra discount, but only for Sonar 8.5 users.

No it's for everyone. It's even on NI website. Until the 30th.

Post

nope, NI has it for 99 dollars or 99 euros when clearly the natural exchange rates of the two currencies do not match. so either america is getting a great deal or europe is getting screwed, depending on the side of the pond you live on. Cakewalk has three of the synths for sale and they are at least taking some account for the exchange rate, but they are offering it to only Sonar 8.5 users. so if you're one of those, you may be able to get it slightly cheaper. (or not depending on how VAT is calculated)
