As it is currently, it's completely random, so there's no way to control it. Your not the first to be confused by it, so I might need to rethink the way it works it little bit.
2. How does chaining sequences work?
1. Click on the pattern selector to show the pattern editor. (Next to the play button)
2. Select a pattern by clicking on a letter and a number.
3. Assign the pattern to either the current pattern or the next pattern by clicking on the buttons near the bottom.
4. Adjust the number of times the current pattern will repeat before switching to the next pattern.

Repeat these steps for all of the patterns you want to be in the chain, you can also trigger the patterns using midi notes which are assigned with this same editor.
3. Even with the lock enabled, it would sometimes spontaneously disable again, and sequences would begin chaining.
In the next update, I will decouple the lock from the pattern editing. That's been requested by others. Currently it turn on anytime you edit patterns, and turns off when you edit a synth parameter.
4. When randomizing drum sounds, it appears that sometimes sounds other than the one currently selected are getting randomized.
If it does, it's a bug. Could you be a bit more specific about how to reproduce it.

Ah, I found it. I didn't realize there was a right-click menu under the pattern number selector.

False alarm- I was randomizing the Master section. However, several times, I have clicked on the individual drum instruments slots, and I get an alert box saying "System Error. Code: 1400. Invalid window handle." Can't consistently reproduce yet.

I have found a couple of bugs with the pad randomization which might be related to what you're seeing. I'll have a fix available in the next couple of days.

I just realized that we are talking about different things here. I'm not referring to manual control of the "roll of the dice". I think that works fine the way it is... there really isn't any need to take manual control over the dice roll, because you could accomplish the same thing by simply switching to a new sequence.

I just meant that when I enable a new step in a sequence, I wasn't entirely clear what determines which variations are initially enabled for that step. I don't have it in front of me (at work now) but I think the rule was just something like "whatever variations were enabled on the last step you modified will be applied to the new step you enable."

You're correct. The settings should be the same as the last step you modified. It's kind of a compromise between making it easy to add notes that are fully enabled and making it easy to create fill notes that are only enabled for a single variation.

There appears to be a problem with the envelope editor. I cannot add or remove keyframes by double-clicking/right clicking. I also cannot drag the time indicator to a new location- it keeps snapping back to keyframe locations.

I found that too - could not add new points though I could move the existing ones. Th etimeline I havne;t gotten my head around yet...:P

I can make the envelopes behave more like they used to. I had thought with the ability to control the shape of the curves, there wasn't as much need for multipoint envelopes. But, it sounds like I might have been wrong.

Post

Why not both, if at all possible? Multipoint as it used to be but with curve shape per-point... that's how most multi-point envelopes work anyway in synths and whatnot... just a thought.
The mind boggles.

Don't panic, I've got no plans to remove the curve shapes.

I've update Extreme Drumsynth with the following fixes
-multipoint envelopes with curve control
-sequencer lock is independent of editing mode
-fixed bug in patch randomization.

Let me know if you have any issues or feedback.

Just tested the envelopes briefly... great job there, thanks.

Thank you! I'll test it this weekend if my screaming kids leave me alone long enough to drag the .dll into my vst folder.
