If you just save all your patches with those voice settings, isn't that enouph?
Make your init patch with the voice settings you want too.

+1

that's the best and easiest way to do it :)

Try the Duophonic mode! VCO1 will play the lowest note while VCO2 plays the highest note pressed. Thus, when you send that through a filter with high input gain, you get various distortion sounds from different intervals (4th and 5th are specifically nice).

The next step is taking filters in series and e.g. using VCF2 as distortion or wahwah.

Is there not one of those in my soundbank? If not it must be here with the ones i'll send to Urs this week :) Should be in the "keys" folder..if not just try something close and use the "circuit bending" function in the tweak page.."crosstalk knob" but don't forget the osc cap failure knob aswell.

cheers

That is radical.

Thanks for trying to answer my question, guys; what I'm asking for is to be able to 'put a precise fence' around ACE's run-time environment, so that I can run it HOT in a live situation.

What's really interesting, is that the (2) dozen or so patches that I ran this morning all maxxed out at almost precisely 58.7%, so I'm reasonably confident that if I fixed the # of available voices at 12, then my CPU load would probably be below 90% (safe).

With a software this heavy, people, precision is everything.

BTW: It has about the same CPU load as Timewarp 2600 (my previous 'watermark'), and produces similiar (believeable) results.

Congratulations, Urs. You've built a world-class vsti...no spaghetti here.

If you've been speaking English all your life you might want to learn the difference between the words "know" and "no." I find it helps a lot. "A lot" is also handy to use as opposed to the incorrect "alot" I see all the time. I know that with me when I see the incorrect use of these simple words I think, "foreign or moron?" and hope it's foreign.
you my friend are a dickhead.I am sorry if i upset you with my grammar it was one in the morning when i added my comments about this vst i no i upset you since u spent the time to write you pointless reply its only manors i write back think i was a bit harsh its not as bad as i first thought but wow my cpu gets bogged :(
You didn't upset me at all. You just made me think you were really stupid. You know. Like when you write "manors" when you mean "manners". I used to be really upset that I was surrounded by dumb people but I've gotten really used to it over the years.

Try harder. It might be just laziness. :hihi:

Maybe you could add some ram to your computer. It's cheaper now. Add a gb of ram and that should help.
I mean, I got a a 4 stack saw patch in mono retrigger mode with standard quality, and medium voices going with my slow mac and 1 gb ram.
It sounded fat as hell too.

The "Template - Synced Lead" preset fits this description exactly.

Just tossing a random thought, another option might be a preset folder(s) with only CPU-safe patches. A further variation on that might be putting those presets in a MIDI Programs folder.
