Just used the receptor on tour and so far so good. I ended up using the snapshot banks and Z load. I was sending program changes from my midi keyboard within each bank and toggling patches on and off which was good. The volume changing messages didnt really seem to work so I wasn't able to do that. I had to kind of pre mix my set. That was okay although I'm looking into getting the BCF 2000....

Still the only question I haven't really gotten a clear answer on is can I manipulate the Efx send channels in real time? I.E I'm playing a patch with the keyboard on my right hand and with my left hand I want to be able to turn a knob on the keyboard to trigger a lo pass filter effect in real time.

My band is a live electronic remixing group. That kind of music uses a lot of filtering effects like phasers and flanger effects. Does anybody know IF and HOW this would be possible using 1 keyboard (like an axiom) and the Receptor??

Thanks!
Well, what you are wanting to do is definitely possible but it will require some MIDI programming. Its a bit complex but I'll try my best to explain.

There are actually two ways to do this. One is to use Receptor's controller assignments and use those to "talk" to the effect, which is done by assigning the parameters of interest in the plugin EDIT page parameter assignments. The second is to talk directly to the plugin using NRPN parameter messages which is definitely too complex to explain here, but you can learn about it on page 191 of the manual.

Open up the EDIT page, click on the little icon on the top of the page that has the three little faders on it at the top of the page, and you'll see all the editable parameters for that plugin.

If you click on the "assign" box next to the parameters of interest, they turn yellow and the "order" box starts numbering themselves. This does three things:

1. It assigns the first four parameters you click on to the front panel assignable knobs beneath the display
2. It adds each parameter you click on to a "reduced" list that shows up when you select a plug in and press EDIT from the front panel.
3. It assigns the first 16 parameters you click on to the Receptor's controller assignments list. If you click on the "order" rectangle, it will open up another window that has the Receptor Controller assignments, starting with CC72 for FXA... You have 16 controllers to play with before they are all used up for that channel...

So what you'd do is assign the parameters of interest to the Receptor controllers, program your keyboard to talk to those parameters on the appropriate MIDI channel, and you're good to go...
