You would obviously need some kind of headphone amplifier or whatnot, the signal needs to be boosted to line level and impendance matched, I presume.lotsakeys wrote:The headphones output: has anybody tried using as a line out?
It makes all kind of noises and barely any sound. It works fine with actual headphones.
I would like to use as a monitor out playing live. I do this with all my keyboards and it has always worked fine. Even the Macbook headphones out works! Just a simple stereo minijack to two 1/4 jacks.
Can't do it with the V-machine. This really bugs me.
Thanks!

Well, ALL the other hardware I own, and that includes keyboards, modules, and a Macbook, allows me to use the headphone out without any problems, straight to a powered speaker or an amp. And the signal is usually hotter than the line outs.DragonSagoth wrote:You would obviously need some kind of headphone amplifier or whatnot, the signal needs to be boosted to line level and impendance matched, I presume.lotsakeys wrote:The headphones output: has anybody tried using as a line out?

I am aware of the impedance mismatch, but this the first time I encounter a problem.

Your product is really interesting and sure I'm gonna buy it...just nowPeter999 wrote: So if you are tired by dealing with wizard files, installation issues, incompatibility, crackles and cpu overloads, then check the VM Bundle which is available for HALF PRICE until December 31st:

No wizard files needed, fully adaped and supported, running smoothly at 256 samples buffer size - delivering phantastic VA sounds; for just €49 currently which is really a bargain deal

Why dont you take an effort to create a decent piano vst that IMHO actually is the greatest weakness of the V-machine?!

For a great piano you should contact this company and ask them what they are about to release.

I had asked them some time ago and they told me there was not interest in doing it. I dont know if they've changed opinion....in their site no news about it.MatthewSkinner wrote:For a great piano you should contact this company and ask them what they are about to release.

Anyway I want to warn other users about two problems I've discovered.
1) Sample Tank 2L DOES NOT work on the V-Machine!
First of all becouse the vst needs 1gb of ram (v-machine has 512mb!!!)....but that's not all folks.
I got 1gb of ram on my mahine
I load a ST bank in the machine, I play it without problem than I change to another bank (with B4 for example) then I want to go back to a ST bank.....well, the sound simply doesn't load getting this message "loading please wait".
But does NOT load....so i'm forced to shut the machine down and when I turn it on i get the "unstable plugin detected" error message.
The support told me that the plugin works (?!), and from their testing issues only occur after switching between multiple large samples.
We are talking about samples of 90mb maximum, I dont really know if nowadays we can consider this a large sample ....but that's the fact
2) yesterday I've bought VM BUNDLE, hoping that designed specifically for the v-machine it would have worked perfectly.
I tried a sound (jump!)....play for 20 second, then I try the solo (you all should know it
I tried with other sounds and I experienced the same problem with other sounds, after the first chockes I dont ear others but one its enough.....so I suggest you to try the demo before buy it!
go V-machine goooo

Did you read and follow the installation guide?
Based on this report I guess you have not replaced the GUI dlls with the NON-GUI dlls on the stick before transfering to the V-Machine
GUI activities can disturb the dsp-only engine within V-Machine - thtat's exactly why we have set up completely GUI-less versions of the plugins for V-Machine internal use only; those ONLY featuture the DSP side;
What you've described can only happen with the normal GUI dlls used in the V-Machine instead of the NON-GUI ones
So delete the plugins in the V-Machine again and clear the banks (like this they will remain to be overwritten);
Then take your stick and:
1. Replace the "SonicProjects OP-X.dll" and "SonicProjects Stringer.dll" with the ones from the "Replacement" folder; they are a bit smaller in size
2. Import the banks again (which also will import the plugins)
For optical support have a look at this installation video, 6:21 ff, that shows the steps in detail. It's performed on a Mac, but it's the same on PC (exept the library location):
With the Non-GUI dlls you will never have such issues.
The demo version by the way does not include the Non-GUI dlls to save space, but here you anyway have audio interrupts that are part of the restrictions.

What I did is to import the banks e plug folder, simply that, I thought it was ready for use.Peter999 wrote:Did you read and follow the installation guide?

Hi,
We've prepared a custom version of TruePianos for V-Machine build from scratch specifically for this device which offers great performance, optional build in reverb and easy controls via a custom GUI (shown on the V-Machine LCD screen). A free 'one module and one preset' version will be released to the public soon. A full version with all modules and presets is planned shortly after.

imho the most important point is to limit cpu consumption to stay within the given borders in any situation - and avoid GUIs within the V-Machine itself;
if the given cpu consumption borders are kept the v-machine works very very stable, over hours, even when you're hard at the limit all the time; in fact it's very predictable
the problem is that many "standard" plugins simply are too cpu hungry for the v-machine, often also only caused by occasional spikes that overload it; one single overload = performance killer; a higher buffer size often does not help here (and it's also too not what you want from a "hardware-like" instrument; higher than 256 samples is no-go imho) - so that's the main challenge - this was also the case in the VM Bundle; the CPU consumption had to be reduced by nearly 50%, and the GUI killed; not always an easy task

Hi,
The free version has been ready for some time and offers +/- 30 stereo polyphony (Amber Lite module with one piano preset). As soon as a new firmware with the functionality it depends upon is made public we intend to release it.
We'll review feedback from people using this version to get some additional insight on what to potentially improve/change for the full version (other than having multiple modules with multiple presets). One great thing about the three additional full version modules is that they offer up to 45-55 stereo polyphony, depending on the module loaded, which I think is quite amazing for this little device, especially considering this includes having the optional reverb active.
The engine as well as the modules for this version have been remade from scratch specifically for V-Machine and offers 2.5-4 times the performance (depending on the module loaded) the current Windows/PC version does on the same hardware.
Regarding pricing, details will be made known when the full version is released.
