I hate to sound cheap but the fact is I'm self employed(I know many people are, including developers)and I also run a small aninal shelter in my home where I have cats and a beagle so any small discount/sale helps, I'm also working on becomimg a sound designer.

Thanks for any info, ScottAC
I'd recommend the dinosaur crossgrade. You could back a cake with the form factor of a minimoog, add some icing, some marzipan keys and some carefully placed chestnuts. Then put the retired & replaced card on top, shoot a photo and get 50$ off. Celebrate by eating the cake.

Btw. there are still about 50 "Spaghetti" early adopter promo codes for ACE left...

MMMm! I love CAKE :D

But the only crossgrade I could have offered was an MG 1 buy RadioShack/Moog

But I gave up this little guy years ago :(

I don't know about ""Spaghetti" early adopter promo codes" how does that work?

Thanks man !

Oh yeah! is the ACE CPU efficiency going to be equal to Zebra2's as ACE is developed?
Thanks again.

Well, ACE is extremely cpu efficient for what it does. It just does a hell of a lot per sample, which makes it a bit of a cpu hog still...

When you order ACE, before the checkout, there's a place where you can enter a promo code. Just enter "Spaghetti" and you'll receive a 10 euro discount.

There was 333 discounts in total at first but now there's only ~50 left.

As long as optimizations are not to sacrifice sound quality I'm all good :) It sounds so good .. Definitely the best softsynth so far to my ears.

Urs, I'm just curious: why are the Mac (22.9 Meg) executables so much larger than the Windows (4.9 Megs) ones? Thanks.

By the way, on the PC not the mac, I had reenter my name and serial number, was that intended behaviour?

edit: I did remove my Ace.Data folder on both machines today if that helps.

The Mac version contains VST, AU and RTAS in Universal Binary for PowerPC and IntelMacs. So there are 6 times the size for executables to be expected and 3 times the size for resources.

(I could optimise that a bit, but then I'd have a hilarious installation process with various shell scripts...)

that happened for me on the last beta... but not on this one... hmmm

it is a permissions problem... the directory (fritz for example) may have no read/write permissions. The presets are there. Change the permissions to everyone read/write and it will work fine

AH! I understand. Which is a good excuse for me to learn track freezing in FL Studio.

This should be fixed now...

The post-install script didn't work in the preset packet so I moved it into the global installer. As far as I can see, permissions are nice now.
