The remix pack was really cool, it was a bunch of plain "ahhh, eees, and ooohs" at a range of pitches. All the rest of the work is mine through time consuming sampler mapping and multiple effect automationtehlord wrote:Great remix
I prefer it to the original, much prefer it in fact. The weird vocal sound that's chopped up in it about a third the way through is superb, was that part of the remix package?
Yeah, that's actually deliberate, believe it or not. It's a single sliced funk drum solo I've sequenced and effected to sound like that (re: focused and simple idea based on two elements). I love the way the snare and the splashy hat kinda run into eachother under the meltdown limiting. It's funny, you can actually hear the singer on the original record going "yeah!" on one of the hat slicestehlord wrote: The only thing that's bothering me in the mix is the hats and snare. They both seem to be occupying the same space, and smothering the bassline at the same time. A bit of EQ tweaking will most likely fix it but definately needs to be done pre mastering.
Thanks! REally kind of you to say. VonStroke's own remixes often only involve one or two short references to the source track, he likes to basically create a whole new tune and pass it off as a remix. Splendidly done that man
