Hi U-He folks, merry chrismas and happy new year to everyone !

I wanted here to share you an idea as suggestion for a potential improvment of MFM2

What bother me in the particular case of today would be the possibility to use some keys (on the left hand, as many sampler in where a few keys are dedicated to the choice of several articulations...or as the metapatches of the melohman engine does)
...that would be dedicated to morphs between presets or, more relevant considering the inherent structure of MFM2, similar VARIATIONS of the same preset (in where the continuous parameters would change from one snapshot to another, eventually in a customisable duration)

For instance...
(and that was for me the main motivation of this suggestion)
...in the note modes : the four delay lines could be involved by a sound designer to create a complete palette of 4-notes chords
These different types of chords could be called by the left hand of the performer on predefined keys while the right one could still handle the chromatic transpositions, so technically you could cover all types of chord in all possible tonalities

This on a same patch and in real time if needed...

From this particuliar point of view, such an improvement IMO would be a huge increase of flexibilty and playability for the note mode of MFM2, ... this was just what came to my mind related one primary use i have of MFM2, but i'm persuaded it might have other situation in where the recall of similar variations of a same patch

Hi

To bump this thread and related to this topic i've just packed a few presets, each focused on a different type of chord, that would have been really handy if assembled in a same preset, as described

[deleted...see third post below]

these are in h2p extended format

______

P.S. i've managed to re-write and correct my previous post that should be a bit more relevant and apologise for the relative lack of intellectual rigour

Thanks for these - they're ace :tu:

Also, good idea about the key controlled preset morphing.

wow, nice to have an answer unexpectedly coming from under the sun of jamaîca !

BTW...happy new year folks !

Here a more complete set of similar sympathetic raisonnances targeting each of them a different type of chord :

sincerely, feedbacks on both these mfm2 presets and related suggestions will be appreciated...

I like these. Very nice work.

I do exactly what you describe with Kore 2. It allows me to create 8 states of a preset (or performance, as they are called) and smoothly morph between them. This morphing is only based on the 8 parameters assigned to the Kore controller but still it's a very powerful way to interact with something like Zebra2 or MFM2.

I agree that it would be very cool to have that kind of functionality built into U-He plug-ins. :)

Krakatou, which version of MFM are you using?
Your presets aren't read from my 2.1 version.
I've tried also to resave them with a text editor but nothing to do...

erm...a bit silly but i didn't realise that they are an update from 2.0 because my presets are made from the 2.0 AU version

Post

in fact, there's no 2.1 but 2.0.1 version...

Oh, I posted a beta for Mac some time ago, with RTAS support. That might have been labelled 2.1
