Zebra2.5 featuring a slightly decimated Urs

An ACE noodle, with microTonic for drums. SoundCloud degraded the mp3 a bit =( It's still listenable, but not communicating exactly how smooth ACE is.

There's not a *ton* of effects in here, one per instrument, more on drums, a reverb send channel, compression/limiting on master. The instrument effects were delay, compression, EQ, and I think this is an honest representation of ACE.

Hopefully it's enjoyable :)

A little sequenced Berlin/John Carpenter-esque thing i'm working on, rough version:

http://users.telenet.be/bogaard/temp/defomodular6B.mp3

The low-end is a bit muddy, i probably should lower the sustain on the bass, but i don't want to lose that "baaaauuuwwwww" attack.

I think i'm gonna call it "Escape from L..uhm...Berlin" :D

P.S. the new XMF in Zebra is capable of ultra fat bass, and then some!

Hello Urs, please make this thread a sticky for all the musicologists sharing their music :)

Maybe it would be a good idea to collect songs made with other u-he instruments in the same thread (new thread name?).

Thanks

Is that reverse delay in the beginning, Sub? And if so, please tell me it's done using Zebrify and not mfm/uhbik :D

edit: sounds pretty cool, by the way!

It's Reversed Audio :hihi:

there is some zebrify SR filter on the higher octave guitar riff that plays at the end 4 of the 16 bar verse part,

the delay is MFM2 & the reverb is Uhbik-A all synths, bass & keys are Zebra 2.5

Bumpy time :)

Made a patch which was good for sampling huge chords. So to come up with interesting timbres i made slight variations based on random LFO's. Then the trick was to take some shots with various chords, after this the sample could be used in various ways by moving the start point of the sample. Each time i moved the sample start point another new start timbre of the chord would show up.

This can lead to extremly inspiring things:

Here is an example:

That's a huge sound, Michael! Grandeur-ious, I would say. :)

I thought the drums were a bit too prominent. The occasional toms panned to the extreme distracted me. I would like to hear the stabs better.

As usual, I really like your creations. I'm still in love with the analog pads (the water themed group) in Old Skool.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes it can. That was great.
Is that just part of a whole composition?
If so how can we get to hear the rest?

Excellent sound. :tu:

I made the Massive Chord mix with new levels and panning, this should bring the chord sample more forward. What you hear is drums and that chord sample, nothing else so its just the inspiration i got from fooling around with the sampled chords.

Here a 3 other examples i've been playing around with:

1.

worktitle funkyfatz with focus on a fat synthbass and fat synth brass

2.
worktitle sinus with focus on creating an arrangement based on sine waves. What inspired me to do this was the Yamaha Tenorion (the handheld matrix synth)

3. worktitle thegate with focus on fast sequenced synths.

all 3 examples is Zebra only.

Crisp and clear sounds :) I love the "oberheimish" pad and brasses in funkyfatz. Thegate reminds me a about the sound of Klaus Schulze, especially when the arpeggiated bass kicks in with the lush strings. You have a very interesting atmosphere going on there.

Best regards

I like the song much, sounds finished. The dark theme in the song fits very well :) Very good mixed altso.
