HI there.

New Traacktion user here.

umm, I can't find anyone else using this version of Tracktion, I got it free with a soundcard purchase.

There's a bug in the control section.

When I click on "click track" and then click on "settings" within that sub-menu, the settings page which is displayed cannot be closed under any circumstances, besides pulling up task-manager and closing Tracktion 2.2 essentially forcing it to crash and you lose any data I would assume...just getting started here with the whole computer daw thing.

Anyway, I guess I can just set the metronome settings and make it crash then not go in there every again, hope I remember.

Another important question from my perspective: can tracktion do independent track loop?

I can't figure out how to, for instance: get an 16-bar loop going on track 1, get a 4-bar loop going on track 2, and then a 2 bar loop goin on track 3?

^What is the easiest way to accomplish the above in tracktion 2, or is there another software more geared toward this?

Also, does anyone have any tips for editing the sound clips?.. Can I just double click them is that the best way?...and can tracktion do anything similar to Audition like remove hiss, remove vocals somewhat, and can I split a clip into a few sections and edit the parameters of each individually, like the volume to make one louder or softer? quickly?...I don't fully understand how the clips work since it seems like one piece of audio automatically has clips that I didn't create.

Thanks, I think Tracktion is a good idea, hopefully it can find a niche and attract users without getting more complicated, I guess people using computers to make music like things overly complex and not-oriented toward actually musical workflow, judgeing by the programs which have seen success.

Reaper is too complex and more cumbersome but does have some great sound sculpting tools in the efx section (eq and efx, compressors and what not).

Tracktion >>> reaper

Mackie are really fvvxing up.

Why does everything that gets bought up by a bigger company have to get fvxked up.

Tracktion was more stable before mackie bought it, Audition was more stable and user friendly before it become audition 3.0, and imeem was the best music site on the internet before myspace bought and dismantled it (or atleast so it seems) someday, some of these people that work for these companies will reap what the sew when they have their fingers snipped off one by one so they learn to keep their hands off of other people's great creations and fvxk them up.

ALso HR824's and 624's sound muddy and they suck for the price point they're at.

update:

Another bug, solved one issue.

I figured how to just have the click 2 bars before, just tick 2 bars before and it doesn't play in record..

but now, in the project screen when i select an edit then click on "edit audio file" and then "basic editing operations" once again, I cannot get out of that screen (similar to the "change click settings" page, although If I perform a permanent edit then it goes back to the project screen, but if decide I don't want to perform an edit I can't get out of that screen.

I'm afraid this program might be too much of a bugaboo for me, well, this is 3 programs I've been through now, fvxkit i'm going to have to try pro-fools goddamnit, i hear users of pro-fools always have the least amount of questions so maybe it's the most straight forward program I"m going to try it after years of sayinfuxk profools, if that doesn't work it's back to a crappy digital recorder

fuxk digital in it's sorry, thin little ass!!!!!!!!!!!!! until it bleeds 1's and o's out like diarea

2.1.0.11 is the last official mackie version. This version seems to have bugs which 2.1.0.11 didn't. You might want to download the tracktion 2 demo (which will be 2.1.0.11) and use your current tracktion keyfile on it. SHould work.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried it, didn't work.

said that keyfile isn't registered to my account or someshit, this is absurd...I can get the latest version of tracktion 2 but I can't go back and get the one without all the bugs in it?

This company is Amazing, absolutely Amazing.

I swear to god the people involved in selling music software/hardware and everything in between are far worse then hitler, far worse.

I have been searching for 10 years, since my reel to reel broke and I could'nt find parts, i have recorded about 2 songs in that time because i can't find anything that works for me in the digital realm.

Everything is designed like sh1t, 1 come acrosse one halfway decent interface (Tracktion) and it has bugs that make it unusable.

I think there's a war on musicians, just like a war on drugs, a war on creativity.

burn in hell computer music industry, burn-in-hell.

does anlybody wanna helped me out with a license number or something?

oh and I tried the demo version of the one you suggested and has none of the bugs I mentioned.

I've also found more bugs with the version I have when trying to use another sound editor in conjunction with tracktion (audacity). which had no problems in the 2.l addition.

I think minor problems with your DAW are less concerning than the near extermination of an entire ethnicity. When you calm down, try
emailing mackie. But please lose the hyperbole. Doesn't go down well with help staff.

Mackie has help staff? I'm sure that comes as a surprise to anyone watching the tumbleweeds blowing through this place or their "support" forum. Mackie has been reduced to a second-tier importer of cheap re-badged Chinese audio equipment.

It is clear that you are not well informed about Hitler. On the other hand, you seem equally ill-informed about the workings of the music industry.

Writing comments like that, you don't seem to realize that you come across as a moron. But then, perhaps you are just very young and immature. Let's hope so.
