Synthbuilder wrote: I know what you're saying here. If you remember it was you who recommended me to jump to Live when we had all that bother with T2 all those years ago. I went in at Live 5 and I was dead impressed - excepting the ruddy midi editor and Live's midi timing which I had hoped would improve, which it hasn't.
Yes, their position on that is weird too...
But I have flirted with other DAW software over the last few years. ... Fortunately, 8.0.9 is running well on my new i5.
That's good news indeed :D

For me, I made the switch to Cubase 5, which is great imho. Just what I needed as a full-featured centre of the studio here. But I really like to have something else that I can use as a composing scratchpad and for fun... but capable of finishing stuff off well too. I had Live and Reason as you know, and thought it would be Live I would stick with. As it turns out, Record/Reason fits the bill much better for me at this point, especially considering I have Cubase for more serious work stuff.
...I hear what you say, but without midi out I am kind of stuffed.
I agree and hear you. It couldn't be my main host without that either. I join the voices requesting it, and hope this time the Props see the benefits. Historically they are kinda anti-hardware though... time will tell!

Those threads at probellerheads are quite annoying. I can't get thru them.

So: isit confirmed anywhere in this thread (I mean: midi-out in Record)? Or ist it still a feature request?

The Props are keeping quite. As of yet it's a feaure request, but definitely the most popular.

Yeah, Record/Reason is a great scratchpad and very inspiring, but aliasing on synths is very annoying. Its so hard for Props to put good anti-aliasing filter on synths output?

Record's SSL emulation is garnering a lot of praise in the industry. The Freemasons used Record for the remix of Whitney Houston's 'Million Dollar Bill'. And they said it sounds "even better" than a real SSL console in some aspects. As we all know SSL's have superb sound. They also said the time stretch algorithm is the best on the market - they compared it to everything else.

STOP! Now, I'm taking a look at Record. :scared: :hihi:

FYI: I've had Reason since 2.X.
I've got nothing to sell...am I on the right site?

Yes, regarding the (probably?) easier workflow it is interesting, really.

Concentrating on only ONE program and nothing else can be a big time saver.

That is the Killer Feature of Reason (and I assume Record) and it does make it hard to beat - once you submit to the limits.

If it had MIDI-out I wouldn't need anything else. It would be great. Just me, Record, Reason & my external gear .... and maybe Sound Forge for audio editing. But that's only until Record's audio editing capabilities inevitably evolve with subsequent versions.

Thanks mates!

I guess I should have a deeper look on Record ( and Reason with its ReFills). Though I thought I had found my DAW .... Samplitude 11 pleases me very much. But who knows.....

1GB for the DEMO is huge ..... due to my stripped won DSL rate it will take a whole day for the download. Hmmmmppfffhhhh!

..... Still campaigning for MIDI-out in Record :D The thread is now 35 pages long with 346 replies & 6400 views. I think it's the biggest thread ever on the Propellerheads forum :) Plenty of support then. Pledge your support if your a Reason/Record user who would like to see this feature.

I'm sure too that Reason 5 it's on the way. One reason because "Reason" now has a "New lower price!". They try to sell more before Reason 5 comes.

Does anyone have any sound examples of anything they have actually written with the combo? I would love to hear something in the electronic vain.
