Merry Xmas! I just did it under the hood in Kontakt and it was super easy to do. All I had to do was put the closed hats into the same group as the foot and it was done.

The reason I personally like the shutting to be done by the foot separate of the closed is because technically speaking you would always hear the sound of the foot closing the hi hat after an open in real life. So you could play both if you wanted. With a hi hat you couldn't hear JUST the closed sound after an open - you'd have to also hear the foot. But this is perhaps being picky about realism. The other reason is that I really like to avoid open hats unintentionally getting cut off so for finger drumming I like the choking key to be tucked away there on the F which is less likely to be accidentally hit. But it's nice to have it both ways. So there you go!
woo-hoo

i dig what you mean regarding realism but in terms of playability, at least in the way i approach things, i'm prepared to take that slight hit...especially considering the boost in other areas as far as realism is concerned......

if , when listening to my music, people can pick out the missing foot-pedal 'chink' then i'm doing something wrong

but at least if they both choke the open i can still use it, should i feel something missing

thanks...you're a star... :D

Yeah some subtle things don't make a big difference in the context of music. But, sometimes I've noticed they do! I try to play the foot hat sound more to get a certain feel especially accenting with the kick. But the idea of this is to cater to people's style as well as offer our own iMap system for the advanced finger drummers to dig into. You have a lot of options for how to control the sounds from keyboard or e-Drum pads now in Drum Masters 2 and in this Group Buy bundle.

Yes, Zedd, I suppose you can call this work. More "play" really. My girlfriend is incredibly cool about giving me a little time to do my thing whether it is music, programming or posting on the forums. She'd probably be pleased I shared the warm vibe philosophy stuff I'm sure... as opposed to being one track minded - MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC! It is my vice I admit. ;) But, a good one to have I think! Don't you?

Anyway, I'm off to join the festivities. I've recovered from last night's adventure. Here's what I wrote about last night in the Vdrum forum. You might laugh:

"...I played last night for a bunch of drunks. But the highlight for me was a blues song I made up for a baby. I learned how to say pacifier in Spanish and made it all about that. Then I played a bluesy/jazzy "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" solo over it that I felt all clever about... I'm sure it's been done! But it was funny and I got away with it. ;)

I'm visiting Mexico City right now. Never been here before. I narrowly escaped hugging the toilet after being spun around blind folded, chugging a glass of champagne and swatting at a pinata... followed by a CHILI candy chaser (yes, a SPICY candy!!!! Yuck). I was really on the edge."

So now I have recouped and ready for some more spicy. Today I may try this thing called Tostada De Cazon. Sounds highly unusual. I'll give it a shot. :D

The deepness of Squids
Squids wrote: At the same time we're ALL amazing if you think about it. Just the fact that we exist is incredible. It's easy to get caught up in what surrounds us in daily life... our jobs, our friends, family, money, possessions or lack of any of it. But if you think "how is it that I think?" or that your body can heal itself or that you can create music by combining different frequencies of vibrations or even have a conversation making essentially a bunch of noises or typing a bunch of characters... So it is kind of a yin and yang thing about being humbled and de-ego'd (made that word up! haha) and at the same time being empowered with greatness. I think the balance of that is the key place to be. Confident but not cocky. Humble but not selling yourself short. Know what I mean?
And even more deepness of Squids

And since we're here, the total is now at 430. Even on Christmas Day, the numbers slowly rise.

After a whole life spent thinking that squids didn't do much but squirt black ink for the heck of it, it turns out that ink is filled with thoughts and ideas just waiting to find their way onto the pages of screenplays and philosophy books. And apparently squids have beaks, which they can probably use as quills. Great things are drumming out from the deep.

Might be covered in this huge thread but... why when I am all set to check out does it say: Use Paypal (won't work with group buy)

thanks

i can't remember that message, though i did have to contact allen (at) esoundz (dot) c.o.m to finalise it all...some strange quirks...

maybe someone else will step in and make things a little clearer

it does work though

Ignore that, and go for it! Seriously, several people have done it. I think the warning was put there to stop people until the lowest price was reached. And remember that it is handled manually, so you won't get anything until Allen gets in (Friday or Monday) a sends out the email. In fact, I'd suggest writing Allen and telling him you signed up through paypal. His address is allen at esoundz dot com.
If Squids or somebody will clarify the PayPal procedure, ebow could put it in his post. That should be worth a few epointz!!!

Yes...

A last minute hold out, please welcome me into the fold brothers.... ;)

I used Paypal and it was flawless for me...

But- I did get that infamous "blank" email from them after the purchase..

Although I understand this has happened before, I still went into the "My Orders" section and the website and made sure... 8)

I'm kinda concerned that I might somehow miss the group buy because of that too.

I paid with Paypal, ignore that message. Squids gave some explanation about this in a previous group buy but I forgot.

Anyway, the only important thing is that, besides what that message says, you can pay with paypal without a problem. Go ahead!. The procedure is clear: ignore this message and that's it.
