I am trying to use MidiOut in EXT 2, but I am having no luck.

I create an instrument track for MidiOut, I set the port for my SH-201. I create some MIDI data, but no luck. I can play VSTi just fine.

Any suggestions?

are you using the latest version?

also, on the modular tab, is the output of midiOut connected to anything?

I think I have the latest version.

Also, the output of MIDI Out is not connected, what should I connect it to?\

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

OK, I think I figured it out. I went to File => Setup in EXT and deselected all the MIDI Out ports. Now it seems to work just fine.

However, MIDI Monitor is giving me a bit of trouble in EXT 2.5.2. I have the MIDI Input connected to the MIDI In, and I have the MIDI Output connected to the MIDI In of a VST. The VST is playing just fine, but I do not see anything in the monitor window. I tried it in Reaper, and it works there. Not sure what is going on here.

Let me know if there is something I can do to help you isolate the problem.

BTW - I used MIDI Monitor in Acid Pro 7.0c, and it worked there.

Thank you.

It looks like I will have to test when I get home (6ish CST). The firewall at the shop is blocking me from downloading. However, if you can e-mail the zip file to my e-mail (available through my KVR profile), I can test it at lunch. I have EXT on my laptop and an AKAI LPD-8 in my bag, so I can give her a good go.

Again, thank you for your help.
